Rain lightly falls from the sky on a spring evening in 1970, as an ALCO S2 brings its train through a small town Pennsylvania neighborhood.

In reality, this timeless scene is from May 2026 as the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad brings inbound cars into Titusville, PA. While most of the railroad runs through the Oil Creek State Park, the surrounding landscape turns more urban in the final mile into Titusville.

Although we have been lucky not to have this experience, we support our fellow local businesses and their employees. We hope everyone is treated with the respect and kindness they deserve.

A MESSAGE TO OUR CUSTOMERS & COMMUNITY

As we wrap up this extremely busy holiday weekend, we want to ask everyone for something that doesn’t cost a thing: compassion, patience, and respect.

The service industry is made up of real people. Servers, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers, hosts, bussers, managers, and countless others are working long, demanding hours to make sure you and your family can enjoy your time out.

Unfortunately, this weekend we have seen an overwhelming amount of rudeness, disrespect, and unnecessary hostility toward service industry employees.

And this is not just happening at our business. We have spoken with several other local businesses this weekend, and they have experienced the same issues with customers being rude and disrespectful toward their staff.

We understand that long waits can be frustrating. We understand that mistakes sometimes happen. We understand that everyone has expectations when they go out. But none of those things make it acceptable to yell at, belittle, insult, or disrespect someone who is simply trying to do their job.

Many businesses are working with limited staff while handling some of the busiest days of the year. The people who showed up to work deserve appreciation—not abuse.

Please remember:
The person serving your table is human.
The bartender making your drink is human.
The cook preparing your meal is human.
The person answering your questions is human.

A little patience can make a huge difference. A simple “thank you” can mean more than you realize.

We love serving our community, and we are incredibly thankful for the customers who continue to treat our employees with kindness and respect.

Please support your local businesses—but just as importantly, support the PEOPLE who keep those businesses running.

Kindness costs nothing. Respect should be expected. And compassion goes a long way.

Thank you to everyone working in the service industry this weekend. We see you. We appreciate you. And you deserve to be treated with respect.

What's that, the slightest hint of a chill in the air, a leaf turning a shade of scarlet? Fall is on the way, and so are some great events from the Titusville Historical Society!

This month we're co-sponsoring a fascinating program at the OC&T, and then we bring back our ever-popular Antiques Roadshow-style "Treasures From Your Attic." We hope to see you!
