UPDATE... they have backed off on when the storm arrives. Now it’s Tuesday...with any luck, he should be out of it by then. Stay tuned.

Boss is off to Florida today. He’ll arrive at the same time as the hurricane. OH My!
For years he has missed most bad weather, either ahead of it or behind it. This will be a first time being in the thick of it. 😱🌊💨🌬

Bad day for the Boss. Dealing with excessive heat and humidity in Florida.

On the home front, still no electricity and 6+ inches of water in the basement...rising. Just got word from insurance company....no coverage for flooded basement and everything in it. Furnace, water heater, water pump..etc

We’re back at work. In Florida near Jacksonville and it’s 98 degrees, dew point 63. HOT and hard to breathe.

KMV is off the road until next week. Taking a quick road trip with son Matt to Minnesota to see Dad/Granpa and several cousins.

Well it’s been quite sometime since you’ve seen any posts out here. The last few months have been very busy. The most notable was the boss broke down in Georgia at the end of July and was stuck in a motel with no transportation for eight days. It was in Albany Georgia and it was extremely hot and humid. Between the heat and humidity, airborne allergies and the stress he ended up going to an urgent care facility. They called me and said he needed a higher level of care and put him in an ambulance for the ER. His COPD was out of control. His at rest oxygen level was in the mid 80s and that’s very very bad. He remained in the ER for nine hours and was given treatment with a nebulizer and some prescriptions to get filled. Problem was he had to find transportation back to his motel and then figure out how to get to a pharmacy to get his drugs. All in all it was a really terrible time for him. He finally got his truck back. $8000 later and deadheaded home. The last thing he needed was to bring a load back and have that additional stress of meeting a delivery time. Once he was back home safe and sound I got him into his regular pulmonary doctor and that visit went really well. He now has a small nebulizer to take with him just for those times when he struggling. He took some time off and now he’s back on the road and headed back to Georgia.Knowing the long-term prognosis of COPD I’m sure there will be many more episodes to come. One day he’ll have to give up driving altogether but until then he’s keeping with the motto “Load’er up and Hammer Down.

Now to find a way to "write this off". The Boss earned himself a new toy.

Finally back on the road. On the way to Black Mtn NC..for Thurs AM delivery. Still plagued with some health issues. But, gotta work. Staying home don't pay the bills. Feels good to be back on the road again (sing it with me)
