This is the intersection of SR 300 and SR 32 in Worth Co. GDOT has programmed a roundabout to be built at this location, but that project is several years out. In the interim, there are plans to install a temporary Reduced Conflict U-Turn (RCUT) at this location via the Quick Response Project program. The program allows GDOT to identify and initiate smaller traffic projects that can be completed quickly on state roads. We anticipate the temporary RCUT will be in place by the end of this year. It will function like any other RCUT. Traffic on SR 300 will not be impacted. SR 32 traffic will no longer be able to cut straight across SR 300 or turn left. SR 32 traffic will be directed to turn right, travel to the nearest existing intersection and complete a U-turn. RCUTS and roundabouts are two designs traffic engineers use to address angle crashes at intersections. Both have been proven to reduce the severity and frequency of crashes. We'll have more info for you in the following months. Meanwhile, please obey the speed limit and stop signs. Remember that SR 300 traffic does not stop as it travels through this intersection so make sure you are giving yourself enough time to safely clear the crossing.
