We are thrilled to announce that construction is officially underway on our new 15,000-square-foot Advanced Composites Center. This expansion creates a fully integrated, world-class manufacturing hub, uniting our expertise in composites, precision CNC machining, and metal additive manufacturing.

While our heritage is deeply rooted in the maritime world, this new facility is purpose-built to push boundaries across a diverse range of industries -- from defense and aerospace to industrial engineering and specialized fabrication. Our incredible team is ready to leverage this new campus' offerings to deliver complex, large-scale solutions with the same craftsmanship and precision that have defined Lyman-Morse for nearly 50 years. We aren't just building a new facility; we’re building the future of domestic production.

Lyman-Morse has begun construction of a new 15,000-square-foot facility to support large-scale composite fabrication and assembly, marking a significant expansion of the company’s manufacturing facilities in Thomaston, Maine. The new building will be the third facility on the campus and will hold ...

Really proud to see one of our Lyman-Morse Workboats in action supporting hands-on learning at the University of Rhode Island.

This recent feature shows students getting out of the classroom and onto Narragansett Bay, learning navigation, seamanship, and data collection in a way that simply can’t be replicated on land.

It’s especially meaningful for our team to know that the boats we build are helping develop the next generation of scientists, engineers, and mariners. Programs like this give students real ownership of their work and build skills that go far beyond textbooks.

We’ve had the privilege of building workboats for other universities and research institutions as well, and it’s always rewarding to hear how these vessels are being used to advance education and research.

Even mid-build, some boats refuse to hide their beauty. At Lyman-Morse, we’re crafting an exquisite, timeless cold-molded motor vessel. We don’t often share in-process photos — the magic usually comes at the end — but this build is so special that even the quiet moments shine through at the height of construction. Too stunning not to share. Enjoy.

Exciting news for our neighbors in Massachusetts! Lyman-Morse has been awarded the contract to build three new solar-powered ferries for MeVa Transit, bringing clean, quiet, and efficient ferry service back to the Merrimack River for the first time in nearly 100 years.

Built by our division, these aluminum, solar-assisted electric ferries will serve Haverhill, Amesbury, and Newburyport, providing a new, sustainable transportation option for commuters and visitors across the region.

The 33-foot catamarans will carry up to 22 passengers with space for bikes or scooters and feature full mobility access. With solar supplementation and fast-charging at both docks, the ferries will efficiently support morning and evening commuter schedules, plus mid-day recreational trips.

Two Lyman-Morse beauties, built 20 years apart but equally stunning. One shows off today’s modern systems, the other carries the charm of another era. Both back in Thomaston for winter work — right where they started. Always special seeing our boats (and customers) come home.

It’s National Harbormaster Appreciation Day! We’re celebrating the men and women who keep our coastal communities safe, organized, and thriving.

We’re proud to have just launched a new custom Harbormaster vessel for the City of Portland, Maine, designed and built by our Lyman-Morse Workboats division to meet the specific demands of their busy waterfront. Every detail was purpose-built, from a fully customized layout to a lithium-ion powered air-conditioning system and dual-helm configuration, ensuring efficient, reliable performance for the team that manages one of New England’s most active harbors.
