A surprise shower didn’t dampen the enjoyment The Menil Collection. We spread out and explored several of the other buildings on campus. And Pit Room BBQ was 3 for 3 on food! Thanks to the seniors of Montgomery County who came along for such a great time! Next week, more museums to stay out of the heat!

What a day! The Menil Collection has many different components. It’s impressive how much green space there is and how they built around the trees. Definitely need more time there. The Pit Room was packed, and the food was delicious. The current exhibit at Contemporary Arts Museum Houston was a conversation starter.

Thank you HOLOCAUST MUSEUM HOUSTON for the well versed docents, the tasty lunches, and the lessons that must not be forgotten. All 4 groups were appreciative and plan to come back and spend more time. The Health Museum really was the perfect place to have some fun after such a heavy day while learning about our insides!

For group 3, at the HOLOCAUST MUSEUM HOUSTON the docent gave the tour in Spanish. Some of the group explored on their own. The significance of the butterflies in the foyer has changed the way we see them. Each of the 1500 butterflies represents 1000 children killed in the Holocaust. The size and color variations symbolize the age differences. Spirits were lifted by some fun at The Health Museum. And another look at the new senior center in progress was appreciated!

Group 2 is just as appreciative to the HOLOCAUST MUSEUM HOUSTON and The Health Museum for their commitment to educating the public, the knowledgeable docent, and interactive lessons. Witnessing the genuine camaraderie of the Golden Go Bus group is a joy to see. And yes, the sneak peek of the Senior Center put minds at ease!
