🚨 Trade Update: New Section 301 Tariffs Are Now in Effect
Effective July 24, 2026, the temporary Section 122 import surcharge has been replaced with new Section 301 tariffs on imports from 60 economies.
What importers should know:
▻ Additional tariffs of 10% or 12.5% may now apply, depending on the exporting country and product classification.
▻ For many products already subject to existing trade measures, these new tariffs may stack with current duties, increasing total landed costs.
▻ China continues to face substantially higher overall tariff exposure than many alternative sourcing markets, while countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia may see lower additional tariff rates on many products.
▻ The actual impact depends on the HTS classification, country of origin, and any applicable exemptions.
With these changes now in effect, it's a good time to review sourcing strategies, landed costs, and upcoming shipments.
