Welcome to the Tavares Eustis & Gulf Railroad (TE&G), home of the world famous Orange Blossom Cannonball! Climb aboard and ride on the actual train that starred in many award winning motion pictures including; "True Grit", "Appaloosa", "3:10 to Yuma", "There Will be Blood", "Rosewood" and "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?". Your journey back in time begins in beautiful downtown Tavares or Mt Dora Flori

da. Our Tavares station, located in Wooton Park at the edge of lovely Lake Dora, is where you receive your souvenir ticket and board the train for your 30 minute, five mile trip to Mt Dora. Count on an hour and a half for your 10 mile round trip adventure as there is an approximately 30 minute layover in each city! Saturdays ride the "Orange Blossom Cannonball", which is pulled by our 1907 wood burning steam locomotive or the "Orange Blossom Express", which is pulled by our 1941 diesel locomotive on Sundays and weekdays. We don't just rekindle memories, we create them too! Our staff is dressed in period costumes as if you have stepped back in time. Enjoy the scenic countryside from our vintage 1915 coaches or our 1918 caboose, listen as the TE&G Conductor shares stories about the history of the train and surrounding area, grab a snack at our onboard concession counter and return home with priceless memories to share for a lifetime. Arrive early and watch our train crew prepare for departure. Sit where famous stars such as Robert Redford, George Clooney, Patrick Swayze, Jodi Foster, Ed Harris, Renee Zellweger, Vigo Mortensen and Russell Crowe once posed for the cameras. And don't forget to stop by our gift shop and stock up on all of your favorite TE&G merchandise. So for great family entertainment, come and experience living history at the Tavares Eustis & Gulf Railroad. All aboard!

Thanks to Cliff, Mac, Timothy, Rebecca, Deborah and all the rest of the cowboys, cowgirls, sheriffs and outlaws for giving the Orange Blossom Cannonball a "21 gun Salute" as we pull out of Tavares. Also a big thank you for all our loyal passenger guests for coming out one last time. Our friend Scott Fais of "Florida on a Tankful" brought us cookies to cook on the backhead of #2. They turned out great! Thanks to all the ex TE&G employees that came to see the #2 and be part of this last run. A big thank you to Neil for coming out of retirement and being a conductor one last time. (not to mention hiring me to be part of this terrific train crew!) For a second I thought I saw conductor Rusty standing by the train, musta had a cinder in my eye. We at the TE&G will miss you all. And a special thanks to Haley Enoch of Trains magazine for coming all the way from Texas and recording the event. Everyone pickup an April edition of Trains for her story of the Orange Blossom Cannonball! Photo credit to Haley. :-(

Press Release
The Orange Blossom Cannonball and Lake Dora Limited will be leaving Lake County January 31, 2017 with the last trains scheduled for Sunday, January 29, 2017. All Saturday trains will feature steam power with the exception of Saturday, January 21. In celebration of No. 2 Locomotive’s 110th anniversary and to express our appreciation for almost 6 great years of serving the communities of Tavares and Mt. Dora, the Tavares, Eustis and Gulf steam locomotive No. 2 will head up the trains on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, January 27-29, 2017. Also, there will be cake for our passengers on those days on a first come first served basis to mark this historic occasion.

Tavares, Eustis, and Gulf locomotive No. 2 was built in January 1907 by the Baldwin Locomotive works, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and started its long career in the East Texas log woods. After a brief retirement it went back to work pulling excursion trains on the Scott and Bearskin Lake Railway near Little Rock, Arkansas, then at the historic Reader Railroad in Southwest Arkansas. It began its film career as America’s Movie Train with the made for television ABC mini series "North and South", and later going on to be featured in numerous motion pictures including “True Grit”, “3:10 to Yuma”, “Appaloosa”, and “There Will Be Blood.”

Make reservations at OrangeBlossomCannonball.com or call (352) 742-7200. Stations are located in downtown Mt. Dora and Tavares.
