🇲🇽 Puerto Vallarta is better than Cancun… there, I said it. 😅

After spending the week in Puerto Vallarta, I can honestly say it became one of my favorite destinations in Mexico.

One of the questions I get asked the most is, “Is it safe?” From my personal experience, yes. Every morning, I walked about 2 miles into town for a walking challenge I was doing. I explored the waterfront, wandered through town, and was out early each day. I never once felt unsafe.

What really won me over was the atmosphere. The mountains meeting the ocean, the charming streets, the Malecón, the incredible food, and the friendly locals gave it so much personality. It felt authentic, walkable, and full of life.

NO sargassum!!!

Of course, this is just my personal opinion—everyone travels differently—but if I had to choose between the two, I’d pick Puerto Vallarta every time.

As with any destination, use common sense and be aware of your surroundings, but based on my experience, I would go back in a heartbeat.

I travel so my clients can travel smarter. Every trip gives me firsthand knowledge to help you plan with confidence.
