Should you buy a 20ft shipping container or a 40ft shipping container?

Shipping containers come in a variety of sizes, but the standard is 20 or 40 feet long. Most suppliers also offer standard height or high cube shipping containers with an extra foot of space. Think about your purpose and your budget. What size suits your needs?
20 ft container

OR

40 ft container

Think about the condition and look of your container. We’ve already mentioned comfort level with dents and dings, but you can also find containers with a fresh coat of paint. If that’s not important to you, you can save money with a container that has faded paint.
Grading is another area to consider. We’ll go into detail about the containers we offer at Used Conex, but you’ll typically have three main shipping container types to choose from:
New, One-Trip:
These are containers that have only seen one trip. They have been loaded with a single cargo and shipped from manufacturing centers overseas and will look practically new.

Used, Cargo-Worthy (CW):
These are used shipping containers deemed suitable for cargo transportation. They are typically in better shape than wind and water tight containers, but more expensive.

Used, Wind & Water Tight (WWT):
These are used containers that don’t allow pe*******on of wind or water but no longer meet CSC (International Convention for Safe Containers) requirements for shipping. They are typically your most affordable option.
