Foggy Bottom Farm

Foggy Bottom Farm Private U-pick flower farm. The first Foggy Bottom Farm flower field was grown in 2020. We are located just outside Tamms, Illinois. Sorry!

As that was such a trying year for so many, it was a great way to bring smiles and happiness to the faces of our family and friends that visited and cut flowers and took pictures. Smiles were in great shortage to us that year as they were all covered with masks everywhere, but on our farm. We are still experimenting with our flowers and are changing as we find things we like, but we are happy with

what we have started. We would like to invite you to visit, cut some flowers, take pictures, and enjoy the outdoors. As this is our residence and a private farm, we may not be able to come greet you, but please make yourself at home. We have two large dogs that love to run through the fields, and while they would not hurt anyone, they can be intimidating when they see people on the property. We bring them in the house when we have visitors to the farm. When you visit, make sure you bring:
- scissors or snips to cut the flowers with (the stems can be a little thick)
- containers to put your flowers in
- water for your flowers as they wilt quickly
- a box or container to transport in your vehicle. As with anything outdoors, you may want bug spray, sunscreen, etc. Please be advised that we raise honeybees so if you have a bee allergy, please plan accordingly. However, we do not see many of our bees on our flowers. Also keep in mind we have no public restroom available. We do not charge for you to visit the farm, but we have decided to start taking donations to help cover some of our costs. Please contact us through Messenger on this page or call us a 618-747-9334 for directions. We look forward to seeing you!

Hello all! Sorry we've been absent from this page. We wanted to let you know that we do have some flowers blooming now, but, for the most part, the field has not done well this year. Between some crazy weather and our busy schedules it has suffered. If you'd like to come out and cut some flowers, please be our guests! But keep in mind it's not as pretty as it has been in the past. We're already looking forward to better weather and field next year! Thank you!!

Good morning! We're gearing up for another year! Shawn has been working hard laying out the flower strips as we've changed a few things with the addition of the pond. The last frost was April 22nd, so weather permitting, there will be one more till, then the flower seeds will be sown! Flowers will start blooming about the middle of June. We're looking forward to seeing everyone again this year!!

We knew it was coming! Yes, we have hit the end of the season and the flower field is going dormant. This is when all the color leaves us and the wildlife takes over. Thank you for all the wonderful memories! We'll be back next year to do it all over again! Much love to you all!

Good morning from the farm! Summer is starting to wind down, but the flowers, butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, and Goldfinches are going strong! There are signs, however, it won't be too much longer before the season is over. We've loved seeing everyone and, if you haven't had a chance to come by, now is the time! We don't have any set hours, so come by anytime. If you don't see us out, we may be busy with another project or work, so make yourself at home in the field, take as many flowers and pictures as you'd like, and ENJOY! ☀️🌻

It's hard not to take a bad photo with all the flowers in the field, but this is great!

We ventured to Foggy Bottom Farm last night to get in a few senior pics for Alex. It was such a relaxing place, more butterflies and dragonflies than I had ever seen.

One of the purposes of the flower farm is to help encourage pollinators. You will see and hear them in the field. They are very busy and rarely leave the flowers and will work around you. 🙂
