✨ City Highlight ✨

Aaahh the city of Mainz (where I am currently staying and I grew up here!).❤️

I know you have probably never heard of it when you think of Germany. 😄
But let me tell you, Germany is more than just Munich, Berlin and the Alps!
Mainz sits just about half an hour away from the Frankfurt airport nestled along the Rhine River. The state capital is also a popular stop on river cruises!

Mainz is known for their Mardi Gras festivities, wine cellars, rich Roman heritage and the birthplace of Johannes Gutenberg who invented the book press.
I personally see the over 1,000 year old cathedral and feel home 🥺

✨Travel Tip Tuesday✨

You think your cruise ship is docked in port from 9am to 5pm every day? Think again and check those cruise port times! These can be best found on daily itineraries around the ship or on your app.

Before you book excursions, check the following:

🚢 Arrival and departure times (and possible delays)
🚢 All-aboard time vs sail-away time (NOT the same!)
🚢 Ship time vs local time
🚢 Distance to what you want to do (and realistic transit time)
🚢 Buffer time for traffic, lines, and “getting back through security”

Don't be a pier runner. Be the person who watches them from their balcony with a drink in their hand...😎

✨EES Update & Personal Experience✨

You have probably heard about Europe's new Entry and Exit System (EES) which launched a few months ago. This is not the ETIAS coming (projected for the last quarter of 2026) I am here to tell you it is not as scary as you might think it is. 😉

What it 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 means for you:
✈ replacement of passport stamps (😭)
✈ Border control will include biometrics (facial scan and fingerprints)
✈ possible delays and wait times as the system rolls out

Don't panic. Plan 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙖 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 for your layovers (maybe squeeze in a snack and potty break prior) and have your documents handy. The self service kiosks will eventually work more efficient. I landed in Germany a few days ago and the lines were moving fairly quickly and we did not experience any noticeable delays.
𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙚: You can NOT use the kiosks when traveling with a child under 12, so I still went to a border control officer. (I assume this will change in the future).

✨Ship (and recent trip) highlight✨

Meet Virgin Voyages' OG lady ship, the 𝙎𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙇𝙖𝙙𝙮! I have cruised her twice now and can't wait to get back on board!

Forget what you know about traditional cruises - Scarlet Lady brings luxury, nightlife, and next-level dining all on one stunning, 𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙨-𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 ship. Whether it’s sipping cocktails at The Dock, relaxing in your sea terrace hammock, or dancing the night away at The Manor, this ship (along with her sister ships) are unlike anything else at sea.

My favorite things about cruising with Virgin Voyages is the entertainment and the FOOD (shocker, I know 🤣) . Also, there is nothing like Scarlet Night on board, where the whole ship is decked out in Scarlet Red! You will likely kick off your heels and end up dancing in the pool (ask me how I know ...🫣)

✨Just Booked✨

Haven't done one of these in a while! Just booked a family's getaway for a 21st birthday to Music City!
Nashville has many direct flights options and an abundance on unique boutique hotels which capture the essence and history of this beautiful city.
The family will visit the Grand Ol Opry, do a trolly tour through the city, tour the Country Music Hall of Fame, chase some waterfalls on a hike and more!

Nashville is always a good idea ... 🎵🤠🎶
