As a Silver Certified Bekins agent we wanted to take a moment to write about what we're seeing this time of year, in senior moves:
Just after Thanksgiving, the number of senior moves increases.
Adult children have been "home" for the holiday, and notice a decline that requires a move.
Arrangements are made, a senior living facility is selected, and we're hired to do the move.
The family may, or may not, stay in town to assist with the cleaning out, packing, moving, and unpacking process. We can help with all of it; we just need a family member or friend to provide direction if the senior citizen is not able to.
If you head home this holiday season, and notice something is not right with an aging parent; don't ignore the signs.
There are a lot of professionals available to help, and fabulous senior living facilities available, from assisted living to memory care.

We're grateful for every family member or friend, who assists with a senior move. It is definitely more challenging (and sad) when we speak with a senior citizen who is navigating all of this alone.
