These gently used Merino wool Sox, sized for saddles with 23.77" panels. These will fit 16" western or endurance saddles or 17.5" English saddles.

They are here on consignment and are listed for $175 for the pair. If you ask me a real steal of a deal. A brand new pair of these are closer to $350.

These Sox just like the brand new ones are constructed with outdoor cordura fabric, 1/4" wool felt and then the Merino wool fleece. Easily washed with Eucalan Soap, also available at Evolutionary Saddles LLC.

HEY COUNTY ASSESSOR I’M TALKING TO YOU!! This is my PERSONAL OPINION!!
Hypothetically…….. I’m being taxed on money I never made. Let that sink in.
If I bought my property outright for $60,000 in 2009
Now the county says it’s worth $246,000.
Did I sell it? No.
Did I make a profit? No.
Did I get a check for $246,000? No.
But my taxes jumped like I did.
That’s the problem.
This isn’t income.
This isn’t cash.
This is a number someone decided on paper — and now I’m being billed for it.
If my stock portfolio doubles, I don’t pay taxes until I sell.
If my income doesn’t increase, I don’t magically owe more income tax.
So why does owning a home work differently?
Why am I being taxed on unrealized gains?
A house isn’t just an investment — it’s where people live. And this system means you can do everything right, pay off your home, and still get squeezed harder every year because of a number you never turned into money.
You don’t truly own something if you can be taxed out of it.
This isn’t about “services” or “inflation.”
It’s about being charged for value you never received.
And people are starting to notice.

There’s something special about tools and materials finding their way to the right hands.

This past week, I was able to bring home a sewing machine, conchos, and a beautiful selection of veg tan leather—pieces that came from another leatherworker who had gathered more than he could use. Some of it I’ve admired for a long time… just never had the space or funds to take it all on before.

Now it’s here—and it’s going to good use.

Some of this leather will become saddles, built to fit both horse and rider the way they’re meant to. But another part of it is set aside for something just as important… **teaching.**

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with groups across Wisconsin—sharing hands-on leatherworking experiences that give people something real to create with their own two hands.

👉 Workshops are available for:
• Youth groups
• Homeschool groups
• Clubs & organizations
• Community programs

From small, close-knit groups of 5–10 to larger groups of 30+, each workshop is tailored to create a meaningful, hands-on experience. No fluff—just real tools, real leather, and real skills.

I’m currently booking workshops for summer and fall, so if this is something you’ve been considering for your group, now is a great time to reach out.

Because sometimes all it takes is a piece of leather and the right tools… to spark something that lasts a lifetime.

Finally putting the finishing touches on yet another English saddle I made for myself.

I am really hoping I love riding in it as much as I loved sitting in it during the build process. I have been down this road before though. I made myself another English saddle once that I loved while I was building it, but once I rode in it, I actually hated it. So I sold it. That means this one ending up for sale is not nearly as unlikely as it may sound.

This one has art tattooled into the flaps using my Tattooling machine. I use that method because of the nature of bridle leather. It is tanned differently than the leather used for heavily tooled saddles, and that difference is part of why my saddles feel so different to the touch.

This is a cutback saddle with forward knee blocks, a pencil roll on the cantle, and footman’s loops on the front and back for attaching bags or anything else you might want to carry. The style was inspired by a Marathon saddle I had for years and loved, but it only fit my Standardbreds, so when they retired, I had to let that saddle go too.

It does not have its panels installed yet, but that is the last step before it is complete.

So I will not promise this one is staying with me until I have actually ridden in it.

Tell me what you think. Do you like the style?
