It’s hard to explain, but photos like these come pretty close.

The colors, the quiet, the endless horizon, and the feeling of freedom that comes with seeing the world from a different perspective. Some sunsets are watched from the ground. Others are experienced from the best seat in the house.

Lawnman has been experimenting with some new camera angles this week!

For a little background: the aircraft had just landed, and our resident “wild gator” was helping guide it to parking while another aircraft moved out of its spot to make room for the amphibious airplane.

It’s not always about Shiloh—we like to get out and visit other airports from time to time too.

This wasn’t a long flight, but it was a good excuse to get in the air. I wanted to share my landing into Danville the other evening.

And yes, before anyone asks, I can both mow grass and fly airplanes. I surprise myself sometimes, too.

You may hear a horn in the video—don’t worry, that’s just me reminding the airplane not to quit flying while we’re over the runway.

What a fantastic day at Shiloh Airport!

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make today’s celebration honoring our beloved and renowned Designated Pilot Examiner, Zenda Liess, such a special event. Zenda’s impact on aviation and the countless pilots she has mentored throughout her career is truly remarkable, and it was an honor to celebrate her legacy with the aviation community.

A huge thank you goes out to the entire Shiloh Airport staff and the Carolina Aviators Network for their hard work, coordination, and dedication in bringing this event together. Events like this don’t happen without a great team working behind the scenes.

We would also like to thank our wonderful food vendors for keeping everyone fed and smiling throughout the day:

Today we want to give a huge congratulations to one of our own, Mathew, on graduating high school! 🎓✈️

If you’ve been around Shiloh, chances are you’ve seen him out on the ramp helping aircraft, fueling planes, and always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

We’re proud to have him as part of the Shiloh family and excited to see what the future has in store for him. Congratulations Mathew — your hard work has paid off, and we wish you nothing but success moving forward!
