Port of Stockton

Port of Stockton The Port of Stockton is one of the country’s fastest growing ports. In 2024, the Port handled 3.7 million tons of cargo.

This generated more than $56 million in revenue and supported 5,500 jobs with $220 million in salaries. With goods flowing in both directions, we ship to and from 55 different countries. On any given day at the Port, you might see organic grain coming in from Turkey, soy beans going out to Australia, or wind turbines being loaded to power other cities and communities around the world. And, of cour

se, we also do business across the U.S., especially right here in the fertile Central Valley of California. We are proud to call the Central Valley home, and we know that we wouldn’t be here today without the hard work and generous help of our neighbors. That’s why we’re committed to giving back to the community and helping to boost the area’s job growth. The Port of Stockton was built by Californians, and we are California proud! Awards:

Operating Engineers 118 and Iron Workers 378 at the Port of Stockton prepare to transload Vestas Wind Energy Equipment from flat cars to special designed heavy haul trucks. The project was managed by long term and trusted tenant Bragg Heavy and Bragg Crane Services.

These wind energy components are part of a much larger project involving ocean shipments that came in from overseas. All to support the Mulqueeney Ranch Wind Repowering Project. This will supply up to 86 Mega Watt of clean energy power to the grid.

Major Milestones at the Port of Stockton!

Exciting developments are taking place at the Port of Stockton, thanks to a successful collaboration between Luminary Logistics, SSA Marine, and Barnhart Crane and Rigging. Together, they facilitated the safe transport of two massive stators, destined for the Lake Don Pedro Life Extension Project. Weighing in at 114 metric tons, these stators were carefully offloaded from the M.V. ABB VANESSA, a specialized project carrier that had transported them from Santos, Brazil.

The skilled members of ILWU Locals 54, 91, and 34 used the ship’s own cranes to carefully lift the stators and place them onto Barnhart Crane’s SPMT units, ensuring a smooth transition from ship to shore transport.

This major project is part of the expansion of the Lake Don Pedro hydroelectric plant, which currently generates 203 MW of clean energy. With the new additions, the facility will increase its output to around 268 MW, helping to replace up to 350,000 tons of coal annually.

The Port of Stockton is proud to play a vital role as Northern California’s Maritime logistics hub for large-scale, environmentally responsible projects like this one. Special thanks to Luminary Logistics for their support and collaboration throughout the entire process.
