Diesel is over $6.50 a gallon nationally.

That’s not carriers being dramatic. That’s the market right now.

A year ago, the national average was around $3.69.

Today? About $6.51.

That’s an increase of more than $2.80 a gallon in one year.

And for the first time ever, the national diesel average crossed $6 this month.

A lot is happening at once. Global conflict, refinery disruptions, tight diesel supplies and historically low inventories are putting serious pressure on fuel costs.

So if you’re a shipper and transportation costs have moved, understand that fuel is a real part of that conversation.

Fuel surcharges aren’t just some random extra line somebody decided to throw on your invoice. When diesel moves this much, somebody has to absorb that cost, and carriers already operate on thin margins.

And carriers, this is also why who you work with matters.

Your broker or agent should understand what it actually costs you to move that truck, not just throw a load on the board and expect somebody to run it for anything.

This freight market is changing.

Fuel is high.
Capacity is getting tighter in parts of the market.
Rates are moving.
Margins still matter.

Shippers, carriers, brokers and agents need to be paying attention.

This is not a normal fuel market.

Plan accordingly.

10 years and all I can really say is, GOD IS GOOD. 🙌🏾

In 2016, we stepped into freight not knowing exactly where this road would take us.

We just knew we were willing to work, willing to learn, and crazy enough to believe that we could build something of our own.

And whew, these 10 years have been a JOURNEY.

There have been wins that made us proud and seasons that tested everything we thought we knew.

Times we had to adjust.
Times we had to rebuild.
Times we had to keep showing up when quitting probably would have been easier.

But through every season, God kept us.

He opened doors we couldn’t open ourselves.
He gave us strength when we were tired.
He gave us wisdom when we didn’t have the answers.
And He reminded us over and over again that the vision was bigger than the hard season we were standing in.

Today, we’re celebrating 10 YEARS AS FREIGHT AGENTS.

Ten years of building relationships.
Ten years of moving freight.
Ten years of learning this industry.
Ten years of growing as entrepreneurs.
Ten years of becoming stronger together.

And when I look back, I realize the biggest blessing isn’t just that the business survived.

We did too.

We grew. We matured. We learned. We broke through things that once felt impossible.

Hudson Freight is more than a business to us.

Moving the load from point A to point B is the baseline expectation in freight. If a brokerage cannot do that, they should not be in business. But the actual difference between a vendor you tolerate and a partner you trust comes down to one thing: communication.

I still remember my first cold call.
I sat there staring at the phone, talking myself out of it before I even dialed the number.
