Our crews got an early start on October 20 for our 6 a.m. Commercial Crew Meeting. Held in a town hall format before dispatch for the day, these meetings give our team the chance to hear from leadership, review safety practices, recognize our Safe Driver Award recipients, and celebrate years of service and individual contributions.

Congratulations to our founder and CEO, Chuck Kuhn, on being named to Virginia Business’s 2026–2027 Virginia 500! 🎉

Chuck started JK Moving Services at 16 with a simple goal: build something of his own and bring a better way of doing things to the moving industry. Today, that vision lives on in every move our team makes.

Meet some of our JK pack crew! JK Founder and CEO Chuck Kuhn personally thanked our JK pack crew after they recently packed up the home of a close friend of Chuck’s family, and the feedback was nothing but great. Anyone who’s watched a pack crew work knows why.

Pack day is long and physical. Our crew wraps the dining table, pads every chair, and packs the good china one plate at a time so it arrives intact. They’re carrying boxes up and down stairs all day, taping and labeling as they go so the family knows exactly where the kitchen stuff ended up.

It’s hard work, and our crew does it right. Thank you, team! 💙

Our crane and rigging team took on a challenging one this week. 🏗️ This below-grade lift meant the crane operator couldn't see the load, so every move was guided by radio from a signal person below. Clear communication and precise control from start to finish. Nice work, team! 💪

Should I stay in my home? Is it time to downsize? Where do I go next? And what do I do with everything I’ve collected over the years?

These can be difficult decisions for individuals and their families.

On Sept. 29, we welcomed the community to JK Moving for our 4th Annual Real-Life Stories About Moving & Downsizing event. Our panelists shared what it was really like to make these decisions themselves, from sorting through belongings and choosing where to move to preparing for moving day and settling into a new home.

Thank you to Steve Gurney, Positive Aging Community, LSIN and NVSRN for partnering with us, and especially to our panelists for sharing their stories so others can learn from their experiences.
