I learned how to use 3 new tools this week: a flap disc grinder, a regular hand held grinder and a pneumatic air hammer! I finally got to paint something!! (Positive progress, instead of just tearing old stuff out!) First a "Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer and then black oil based enamel.

Today we start putting the windows back together!! Good rainy day project..
We purchased new gaskets from "VintageTrailerGaskets.com"...(who knew that was a thing???) Oh...we have learned so much over the past few months. I have never worked with jealousie windows before. Joe made new plastic bearing end points...unavailable otherwise. Yes....still crazy.

Now. To the danger zone. We need to raise the side "cage/frame" from the base steel frame. There was originally a wood base joining the two frames. It is 90% rotted, so it will all be replaced. An interesting fact...you should not use treated Lumber next to aluminum (our walls & roof are an Alumalite frame).
Our trailer base needs grinding/sanding/coated to give this trailer a new life.

Today was window/screen/door day. Joe got the old door off, there was nothing to save on it. The big front window is cleaned, taken apart, painted and wrapped up. We will be waiting for new gaskets to return to stock. I will get better after pics on the next set. We are switching all the windows & frames to black mettallic. We had one window pane that was shattered, we took it to Dixon Glass to get new tempered glass...3 weeks for that. 6 cans of spray paint today. 🎨

Currently still tearing old crap out...but at least I finally get to clean the windows and start their rehab. We are going to paint all the frames, replace the one broken glass, replace all seals and gaskets. We are also replacing the little white crank turner-holder-thingie....
We have been watching a lot of YouTube and have found a few good supply sources. Pam has a wish list on Amazon....if you are concerned about missing any up coming birthdays!!! Lol!
