Amazon Bringing Back ASIN Level Restock Limits
1. The new restrictions:
- 90-day supply limit at the ASIN level
- Cross-seller limitations - other sellers can block you from sending in inventory .
- Inconsistent metrics (products flagged as both "low stock" and "over stock")
- Even AWD transfers being blocked
2. What's happening:
- Amazon's bracing for Prime Day, Fall Prime Day, and Q4
- They want high inventory turnover, not storage
- Days of Supply is a lagging metric (takes weeks to update)
- Seasonal products are getting hit hardest
3. Worst part:
"ASIN-Level Restrictions: The days of supply is typically calculated at the ASIN level across all sellers"
Meaning:
If another seller floods your ASIN with inventory, YOU could get blocked - even with zero inventory.
REALITY CHECK:
Amazon isn't announcing this officially yet, but brands are already seeing the errors:
"You already have high days of supply for this ASIN in our fulfillment centers. This product must be removed from this shipment."
The craziest part?
This looks suspiciously like last year's playbook - push brands into AWD, then AWD hit capacity issues in Q4, and brands went out of stock during peak season.
You seeing this too?

these aren't the same as Capacity Limits - these are ASIN-specific and potentially more damaging
Before ofitial note, What to do RIGHT NOW:
- Document your seasonal patterns
- Break shipments into smaller batches
- Contact support for seasonal exceptions
