My Dad...My Hero....Always

On National Hero Day, I want to honor the man who will forever be my greatest hero, my Dad.

He was a veteran, a local contractor for 46 years, a craftsman and most importantly the best dad a daughter could ever ask for.

He spent his life building homes but he did more than that, he built a foundation of love, strength and a beautiful life for us kids. He left a legacy of love when he passed.

To the world, he was a contractor, a veteran, church going, hard working man. To me and my siblings he was our teacher, our safe place and our hero. He was a man that offered quiet wisdom and sometimes tough love when necessary.

Some heroes wear capes, mine wore work boots, carried tools and showed me what unconditional love means.

Of all the things my dad built in his lifetime, the most beautiful was the love and memories he left in my heart.

I will forever be proud to be his daughter. I cherish every lesson, every sacrifice he made to take care of his family.

What a beautiful fall Wednesday!
Caregivers don't need the spotlight because their light shines through everything they do.

It shines in the hands that gently help someone through their day. It's in their voice that says..."I'm right here"
It's in every meal prepared and in every quiet moment in companionship.

Whether you care for someone professionally, care for a parent, a spouse, a child or a friend-
You are making a difference!

Caregivers don't ask for recognition. They simply show up, give from their hearts and make someone's world a little brighter.

You may never stand in the spotlight, but never doubt YOU are the light.

Thankful Heart.....
At Houck Family Services, we have so much to be thankful for.
We are thankful for the clients and families that allow us to come into their homes and become part of their lives.
We are thankful for our incredible caregivers who give their time, compassion, and hearts every single day.
We are thankful for our community that has supported us since 2009.
Today and everyday, we have a heart full of thanks.

It's here! Pumpkin spice season is here.

I have to admit I love everything pumpkin spice.
It is truly my guilty.

There's something about the cozy smell that says fall is officially here.

Hi everyone, we are wanting to gift four Veterans a free cleaning .
Please message us on messenger the names of any veterans you know that may benefit from a free four hour cleaning. We will
be accepting names up until November 10th, 2026.
We can accept names from Huntingdon and Centre counties!

At Houck Family Services, we have tremendous gratitude for those who have served our country.
We want to give back in a small way to show our appreciation.
