At Biewer, it’s our people who set the bar—and Robert Locke is a perfect example of the dedication that keeps our operations running strong.

Since joining us in November 2021, Robert has been the kind of teammate you can always count on. He steps up without hesitation: responding to emergencies, taking on overtime, covering holidays, and even volunteering to support another short-staffed facility before anyone asked. That’s the definition of a team-first mindset.

Robert’s consistency, dependability, and willingness to go the extra mile reflect the culture we strive to build every day—one where people support each other, take pride in their work, and lead by example. And that culture shows in the products we produce. When our teams are committed, collaborative, and focused, it results in the kind of quality and reliability our customers trust us for.

Our accounting team took learning on the road with visits to Biewer Sawmill - McBain and Biewer Lumber - Lansing. For many—Jessica, Jaye, Emily, and Andrea—it was a first look at a mill and treating facility, and the experience sparked great conversations and curiosity.

Huge thanks to our on-site hosts, Kris Demel and Nick Biewer and their teams, for walking the accounting team through the full manufacturing process and making the visit hands-on and meaningful. And shout-out to Wes Windover and Katie Putvin for the bonus crash course on northern Michigan logging.

Experiences like this remind us: when teams connect, we grow stronger together.

At Biewer, integrity isn’t just a word—it’s a core value that guides how we operate every day. This spring, when Northern Michigan faced one of its most destructive ice storms in years, our Michigan Forestry team put that value to work.

Area Forester Mitch Beach and the team approached the cleanup and recovery with a commitment to doing what’s right for landowners and the forest. From coordinating salvage operations to responsibly managing storm-damaged timber, their work exemplified the integrity that defines Biewer.

We’re proud of Mitch and the entire forestry team for showing that even in challenging situations, integrity is at the heart of everything we do. 🌲
