Abilene Zoo is THE full size zoo in West Texas. Is there another place to feed giraffes?!? A zoo this size definitely deserves more recognition. Take the whole family, spend some valuable time and experience all the zoo has to offer.

The Grace Museum in Abilene is a fantastic place to spend a few hours. Art, history and Texas culture occupy this historical building. Once built to house travelers as they get off the train across the street, this museum has a new life all its own. Don’t miss this fantastic local museum designed for the entire family. Such a beautiful and fun experience.

Vagabond Pizza in downtown was our stop for some yummy wood fired pizza and tasty desserts. Open for lunch and dinner, be sure to stop in to see what the locals already know as great pizza and a fun atmosphere.

Spark Science Center is a great place to experiment and explore no matter the weather. Located in Abilene, this newly opened, interactive, and family friendly STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) museum is the perfect place for the whole family. Go have some fun, we sure did.

12th Armored Division Memorial Museum One of the longest videos we’ve posted. But could have been longer. This place was amazing. If you have an interest in history and WW2 you’ll need to check this place out. In downtown , you can learn about the local men and women who served.
You won’t be disappointed.

The Pour House was a great stop for unique and tasty cocktails. This women owned establishment was a perfect place downtown to grab a drink. Go try them out. Where else should we check out in Abilene?

National WASP WWII Museum is the only place in the US that women were taught to fly planes in WWII. It was such a fun place to experience what women did for our nation. These women led the way in so many areas and greatly accelerated the war. They trained and flew aircraft along with so many other duties. Next time you’re on Interstate 20, get out and take a walk around and learn about these amazing women.
