We’ve been busy working on a project that involves disassembly and transport of several large injection mold machines. This is the clamp section of one machine. This clamp weighs 98,500lbs!
The clamp section holds the two mold sections tight together during plastic injection, and then opens for part ejection. A lot of the plastic tub type storage you see in your fridge/pantry are made with these types of machines.
