He started a lease purchase program with one truck at O&S Trucking in 2005. Nobody knew his name. Retired in 2010 with 300 trucks. A work truck with style. Nobody in those seats would ever be mistaken for a company driver.

Guy comes in after 20 years driving. Confident he can do it better from the office. One day in front of the software and he is asking if his truck is still open. Some drivers cross over and excel. Some get back in the truck. Both are fine.

The banker showed the collateral form. Every brother passed. Wayne came back a week later alone. His brothers would work for him but not own it. Banker said he always paid his bills. He got the loan, got the truck, and renamed it Wayne Transports.

Wayne had two sayings. "If you don't keep it in the black I'll be back." And if you showed up with something fancy he would light a cigarette and say "Yep everybody oughta have two of them." Good to his people. Down to earth. Someone stayed 44 years because of it.
