Route 66 Centennial Parade: Service Changes 🚧

CU Transit will have temporary service disruptions during the Celebrate America on Route 66 Parade.

📅 When:
Service changes will be in effect from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 1.

🚌 Routes Affected:
• 02 Dale
• 03 Division
• 05 Glenstone
• 07 Campbell
• 12 National

📍 What to Expect:
Multiple stops along Boonville, Olive, Chestnut Expressway, St. Louis, Benton, National, Glenstone and surrounding downtown streets will be temporarily closed. Some routes will be partially detoured or only affected in certain directions.

The following stops will be temporarily closed in both directions:
• Boonville & Blaine
• Commercial & Jefferson
• Commercial & Washington

Downtown Service Changes for Route 66 Centennial 🚧

CU Transit will have temporary service disruptions downtown beginning Wednesday, April 29, at 8 PM until Thursday, April 30, at 4:30 PM.

🚌 Routes Affected:
• 02 Dale
• 05 Glenstone
• 07 Campbell
• 12 National

📍 What to Expect:
Several downtown stops along Boonville, Olive, Mill, Chestnut Expressway, St. Louis, Benton and Robberson will be temporarily closed.

➡️ Some routes will only be affected in one direction, so be sure to double-check your trip before heading out.

Visiting the Route 66 festival? There will be a free-fare, special event bus along Boonville Avenue. The shuttle will stop at assigned parking lots every 6-8 minutes from 6–10 p.m. on Friday, May 1 and from 7 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.

🥳🇺🇸 Tips for Getting Around for the Red, White & Bridge Bash May 1 & 2

🚧 Commercial Street from Robberson to Benton will close from 2 p.m. Friday, May 1 through 2 p.m. Saturday May 2 for the street festival, classic car show and light, sound and drone show at the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge.

🅿️ Organizers encourage you to plan ahead and allot ample time to find a place to park.

City Utilities of Springfield, MO will be running a free-fare, special event bus along Boonville Avenue with event partners offering their parking lots for free parking. The shuttle will stop at assigned parking lots every 6-8 minutes from 6–10 p.m. on Friday, May 1 and from 7 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.

Spectators are encouraged to park in the following lots, which will be marked by bus stop feather flags and be shuttled to and from Commercial Street:

📍 General Assemblies of God - 1445 N. Boonville
📍 Cox North Hospital - 1445 N. Robberson
📍 Central Assembly of God - 1330 N. Boonville

The following free parking lots are available close enough to the event footprint to walk:
📍 Victory Mission – 1709 N. Boonville
📍 City of Springfield Missouri Job Center 1650 & 1661 N. Boonville
📍 Public Parking Lot – 1710 N. Campbell
📍 Public Parking Lot – 1725 N. Jefferson

🚧 Transit Service Alert: National Ave Closure (Under I-44)

Due to the closure of National Ave under I-44, stops on Line 2 will be temporarily adjusted starting Monday, April 6.

During this time, service will be suspended along the following roads on Line 2:
• Evergreen
• Fremont
• North
• Delaware

🚌Riders who live in this area can still access Line 2 at Kearney & Delaware (SW).

Starting Sunday, April 5, two bus stops on Grand will change to Sunday-only service:
• Grand & Grant (SE)
• Grand at Market
Line 27 will continue serving these stops along Grand. Line 9 will no longer stop at these locations after Saturday, April 4.

Beginning Monday, April 6, the inbound Line 9 route will use northbound Grant Avenue. Riders can use these nearby stops:
• Grant & Grand (NE)
• Grant & Madison (SE)
• Grant & Mt. Vernon (NE)
Line 9 will no longer travel east of Grant on Grand or on Campbell north of Grand.

Transit Service Alert: St. Patrick’s Day Parade 🍀

On Saturday, March 14 from 12–4 pm, several CU Transit routes will experience temporary service disruptions due to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Springfield.

Routes affected:
🚌 3 – Division (Orange)
🚌 5 – Glenstone (Blue)
🚌 7 – Campbell (Red)
🚌 12 – National (Maroon)

Nearly 30 bus stops will be closed by the St Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday afternoon.
