Santa flew in to visit with the kids at the airport yesterday, and we had such a wonderful turnout. We love getting to collaborate with the community and share aviation in such a unique way with the kids and their families.
Santa arrived in a 1930 D-25 New Standard biplane, owned and operated by Dewey Davenport with Goodfolk and O’Tymes Biplane Rides. The four passenger aircraft is known as the King of the Barnstormers and is an icon of the golden age of flying. Roughly 8 of these aircraft are still flying today, so it’s really quite exciting to have one in our own backyard.
The photos featured below were taken by Chris Andrew Photography with Warbird Mafia.
A special shout-out to Sweets Boutique Bakery for providing cider, hot chocolate, and s’more’s. Darlene Ford for the coloring activities, and Todd Powell for helping the kids make penny gliders. And one of our tenants, Dan Badger, even came out to offer airplane rides to kids.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are always wonderful! We really appreciate everyone who came out and supported the event! We’re very fortunate to have the aviation community that we do.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all
