It began with the purchase of the Yamaha snowmobile franchise from an existing Yamaha dealer that Bob Sell worked for at the time as a technician and from whom Terry had purchased his snowmobiles. With the retirement of the existing owners Bob and Terry, being snowmobile enthusiasts, saw an opportunity. In the first year, they ran the business in a very small "barn". The second year they built wha
t was the start of the current location. At the same time, the Johnson / Evinrude outboard franchise was acquired from Bob's father, who owned and operated W.E. Sell Sporting Goods in Hanover. The franchise was held by Bob's dad since 1954, so it was an easy transition. Within a couple of years, F&S had grown the business tremendously. Within a few more years, their sales had grown to the level of being Yamaha's largest snowmobile dealer in Pennsylvania, as well as becoming one of the largest Johnson outboard dealers. After a few more short years, they became one of largest Yamaha snowmobile dealers on the east coast. At the same time of all this fast growth, their Yamaha customer service scores coming back from the manufacturer were in the top 1% of the thousands of Yamaha dealers in the country (today this score is called the "Yamaha CSI report Card", and you can view our current report card on our Service Dept page.) Today, we are proud to say we have over 200 years combined experience with snowmobiles, and 165 years with boats and outboards, and we pride ourselves in having a staff of some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry. During the boating season, we stock close to 100 new boats and outboards, and we have one of the largest boat and snowmobile accessory displays in Pennsylvania. At our local Lake Marburg in Codorus State Park, of the 380 boats slips (all of which are full), we are proud to say we service over half of those boats and outboards.
