Mr. Taxi

Tonight, Mr Taxi was dealt an almighty blow. Our long-time night shift manager, Nate Parrish, passed away at his home. He was with us for more than 4 years, and his loss will be greatly felt by us as well as the many regular customers who've come to know him and depend on him for reliable and friendly service over the years. He was a damn fine driver, a damn fine manager, and a damn fine friend. Rest easy, man.

All Roads Lead to Mr Wonderful... (Based on a true story)

A woman approaches a bartender, and asks them to call her a taxi. So the bartender turns to the known taxi driver sitting at the bar, waves, and calls out "taxi!"

The woman recognizes the man as someone she's never much cared for, and asks the bartender to call her a different taxi service.

So the bartender turns to the wall with the list of preferred taxi services and calls the very first one, at the top of the list.

The man's phone rings loudly on the bar. The bartender, looking as surprised as the customer, says "is that really YOUR phone I'm calling?"

The man says that indeed, it is, and offers to get the woman a driver dispatched right away. Still she turns her nose up, and insists on a different taxi service.

So they get on Google and call the most highly rated taxi service that comes up... and again, the man's phone rings on the bar. At this point, the woman declares she will find her OWN taxi service and storms out.

A few minutes later, a familiar ringtone is heard across the bar...

In these trying times, people will still need to get around to various places. Doctors appointments, supply runs, etc. Mr. Taxi is here, we are running and do not intend to stop running during this pandemic. We are, however, committed as always to ensuring SAFE passage to your destination. This means wiping down seats, seatbacks, windows and door handles after each ride. Please do your part as a passenger by maintaining good hygiene practices. Cough into your sleeves, don't lick the windows (you know who you are 👀), pay with a card when you can. Things like this will go a long way to helping prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

On a more humanitarian note, racism will not be tolerated in my vehicles. I don't want to hear your jokes or rants about folks of Chinese descent. If you have such things to say, say them elsewhere or better yet not at all. That kind of talk will result in immediate termination of your ride, wherever we may happen to be at the time.

If I'm doing 10 over in the fast lane and actively passing slower traffic in the middle lane, and you think you can bully me out of your way by aggressively tailgating me because 10 over isn't good enough, I will pull alongside the cab of the nearest semi truck in the middle lane and set my cruise control to match its speed until you back off enough for me to at least see your tires in my rear view, in compliance with the RCW on following too closely. Honking your horn and flipping me off will only make the situation more enjoyable for me 🤷🏼‍♂️
