Tradepoint Atlantic is proud to help support the Chesapeake Bay Trust’s Outreach and Restoration Grant Program — an opportunity designed to empower community-led environmental stewardship projects across Maryland.

This grant program supports initiatives that advance the restoration and protection of Maryland’s bays, tributaries, waterways, and natural resources through education, engagement, and hands-on impact.

Previous recipients of this funding have included organizations such as The Nature Conservancy whose Witness Trees program in Turner Station was supported through this effort, as well as funding used to curb litter at North Point State Park — demonstrating the program’s meaningful local and regional impact.

If your nonprofit, school, civic association, watershed group, or community organization has an idea that can make a difference locally, we encourage you to apply.

Today, joined by Governor Wes Moore, Tradepoint Atlantic and Terminal Investment Limited (TiL) broke ground on the Sparrows Point Container Terminal, a transformational 168-acre container terminal and on-dock rail facility at Coke Point.

From the former Bethlehem Steel site to one of the most competitive logistics hubs on the East Coast – the comeback story of Sparrows Point continues.

This historic $1.2 billion private investment will handle more than 1 million containers annually, accommodate 2 ultra-large container vessels simultaneously, feature 7 ship-to-shore cranes, and bring thousands of new good-paying jobs to the Baltimore area.

We are saddened to share the passing of community member Bob Romadka, Sr., who passed away on March 23, 2026, at the age of 95.

A man of deep faith and devotion to his family, Bob was also a steadfast community leader on the Eastside of Baltimore County and an early supporter of Tradepoint Atlantic. He saw the vision for Sparrows Point and quickly got behind it — something we will always be grateful for.

His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the countless contributions he made to causes and organizations like CCBC and MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore County and beyond.

The Sparrows Point Container Terminal (SPCT) project is taking meaningful action to help protect the Chesapeake Bay. Through a partnership with the Oyster Recovery Partnership (ORP), we are supporting the removal of derelict fishing gear from the upper Chesapeake Bay near Hart-Miller Island and the Patapsco River.

With 20 vessels and 40 local watermen on the water, this effort is cleaning up lost crab traps and debris that harm marine life and active fisheries, while creating jobs.

Tradepoint Atlantic continues to serve the community because we’re focused on building a world-class container terminal and protecting the environment and local waterways. We are proud to partner with ORP and Maryland Watermen's Association on this important work.

We’re proud to share that one of Maryland’s largest rooftop solar arrays is now live at Tradepoint Atlantic.

Installed on the roof of the Floor & Decor building, this project will generate enough clean, carbon-free electricity each year — helping offset energy use at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and supporting Maryland’s clean energy goals.

Projects like this show what's possible when local partners work together to make smart use of existing spaces and invest in a healthier, more resilient future for our region.
