Woman-owned. CNA-trained. Trauma-informed.

Those aren't buzzwords. That's 20 years of memory care, hospice, and veteran facility experience brought to every senior move we do.

We set up the new space to reduce fall risk. Families brief us before we arrive the way you'd brief a care team coming on shift. We know how to handle a memory care morning β€” what to say, what not to, and why. We go back if something feels unresolved. We care about what happens after the truck leaves, because the move is not the hard part. The adjustment after it is.

Southern Maine families trust us with the moves that matter most. Senior moves, downsizes, life transitions, long-distance relocations. The moves that are never just about the stuff.

If you're planning a move for a parent, a spouse, or yourself β€” and you want a team that actually understands what they're walking into β€” we'd love to hear from you.

Most families think the hardest part of a senior move is getting everything there.

It's not. The hardest part is the two weeks after the truck leaves.

A senior's body runs on procedural memory β€” automatic routines that don't require thinking. Walk to the bathroom. Reach for the lamp. Step down into the living room. These happen without conscious thought because the body has done them thousands of times.

In a new space, that map is wrong. And in the gap between what the body expects and what's actually there, falls happen. Not dramatic falls. The quiet ones, at 2am, when a foot goes to where the floor used to be.

The first 2-4 weeks after a senior moves are the highest-risk period. Our owner, Brie, learned this over 20 years as a CNA β€” which is why we tell every family before the move, not after.

Visit more. Stay in close contact with the facility. Put night lights everywhere. And trust your instincts if something seems off.

We're always happy to talk through what to watch for β€” before or after a move.

If you're moving a parent with dementia into memory care, you already know you can't tell them the whole truth on moving day.

You'll say "let's find you a warm bed for the night." Not "this is permanent." You'll step into their reality instead of correcting it. And you'll carry that all day, alongside the knowledge that you made the right call.

This is called therapeutic redirection. It's what memory care staff practice every day. It's also one of the hardest things a family member can be asked to do.

We've been in that room.

Our owner, Brie, spent 20 years as a CNA in memory care before ever starting a moving company. Our team knows how to handle these mornings β€” not just the logistics, but everything around them. We work quietly. We handle things like they matter. We know what to say and what not to.

And we want families to know: moving day isn't the hardest day. The weeks after are. Brie writes about what to watch for β€” and we're always happy to talk through it directly.

If you're navigating this and you're not sure how to make it work, DM us. We've had this conversation before.

There's a reason we call it pink glove service. And it's not about being careful with the furniture.

Senior moves are different. The person at the center of it is navigating one of the most significant transitions of their life. They may be scared. Resistant. Grieving something nobody around them fully sees. And the people around them β€” adult children, spouses, siblings β€” are carrying their own version of all of that.

Our team knows how to move inside all of that. We know when to talk and when to let the silence be quiet. We know how to handle belongings like they mean something, because they do. We know what a memory care moving morning requires β€” and what it doesn't.

And when we set up the new room, we're not thinking about what fits. We're thinking about what's safe.

This is what 20 years in memory care, applied to a moving company, looks like in practice.

This is something we do intentionally on every senior move.

A senior's body navigates by procedural memory β€” automatic routines that don't require conscious thought. They know the lamp is to the left. They know how many steps to the bathroom. They know where the wall is in the dark.

When you move that layout, even slightly, you disrupt that system. In an aging nervous system, that disruption is real. It's how falls happen β€” not the dramatic kind, but the quiet ones that happen when a body acts on a map that no longer matches the room.

So we set the new space to mirror the old one as closely as we can. Lamp on the same side. Favorite chair facing the same direction. Path to the bathroom as clear as possible. Night lights in every key location.

Other movers arrange furniture where it fits. We arrange it where it's safe.

That's the difference between a moving company and one that spent 20 years in memory care first.

The questions you ask your mover matter more than the price they quote.

Most moving companies aren't trained for senior moves. They can carry boxes and wrap furniture. What they can't do is understand what spatial disorientation does to an aging brain, or how to approach a client with dementia, or recognize when someone's adjustment period is going harder than expected.

Our owner, Brie, spent 20 years as a CNA in memory care, hospice, and veteran facilities before starting this company. That background doesn't sit in a frame on the wall. It shapes every move we do.

Ask these questions before you book anyone. We'll answer all of them β€” honestly, and without any pressure.

We moved a client yesterday. She left us a check for more than she owed.

We couldn't reach her by phone β€” her lines weren't connected yet. So we went in person. That's not something we were willing to leave unresolved.

When we got there, she told us she'd been distressed since the move. Not because anything went wrong. Because her new unit was a mirror image of her old one β€” same layout, everything flipped. And that small spatial difference had completely unsettled her.

We stayed. She told us what had been happening since the move. That's not a conversation we were going to have over the phone.

Most moving companies are done when the truck pulls away. We're not.

If you're planning a senior move in Southern Maine, you deserve a team that cares about what happens after the last box comes in.

People often think moving day is where the work begins.
For us, it's where the preparation pays off.

The conversations we have before the move.
The questions we ask.
The plan we build together.

That's what allows moving day to feel calm instead of chaotic.
Great moves aren't improvised.
They're thoughtfully planned, communicated, and carried out by a team that cares.

Many of the people we work with aren't the ones moving.

They're daughters coordinating from another state.
They're sons trying to balance work, kids, and caring for aging parents.
They're spouses carrying more than anyone realizes.

Supporting one person often means supporting an entire family.

If we can make that journey feel lighterβ€”for everyone involvedβ€”we've done our job.

A smooth moving day rarely happens by accident.
Behind every move is a hundred small decisions most people never see.

Confirming timelines.
Planning furniture placement.
Adjusting when closing dates change.
Finding solutions when unexpected challenges come up.

Our job isn't just to move boxes.

It's to remove as much stress from the process as possibleβ€”before it ever reaches you.

That's the kind of preparation that makes moving day feel different.
