The seasons changed quickly. Some of the trucks have their plows on and were used this morning. Yesterday's storm was an important rehearsal for winter, but the ground is not frozen yet so there are places that are too soft for plowing, particularly when the snow is mixed with rain! It was a good "tech rehearsal" to share a theatre term. The sun was brilliant today and lots of the snow shrank and some evaporated completely.

We still have an occasional paddler going out on the calm days. The boats are sleeping under their covers. Pretty soon we will be mapping our snow plowing routes. The seasons are changing.

All tide access to the water is at the Freeport Town Dock - we gladly transport boats there for you. If the tide is right there is also good paddling from Winslow Park and Porter's Landing;

Beautiful day today! Several people out this afternoon enjoying a paddle. Tomorrow is predicted to be more of the same. Call us, 207-865-6143, and take a break from whatever you are doing to get out on the water. One of the things you may see are lots of small sailboats competing in the yacht club junior regatta. It's always a pretty sight.

Tomorrow, July 4th, is a busy time in Freeport. We will be closed for much of the morning, but do leave us a voicemail if you want to make plans for the afternoon. Early in the morning the road race comes into South Freeport and the only way to get here will be in from Route 1 by the Big Indian. Later in the morning we will be in the parade on Main Street with our antique fire equipment. Do come and watch and enjoy all the activity. We anticipate having someone back here by 11:00 to help you if you would like to paddle during the rest of the day.
