He enjoyed working on the boats and the feeling of pride and accomplishment once the boats were finished. He was looking at a friendโs boat one day and t
hought that he could build that type of boat. He built his first boat in 1991 in his grandmotherโs garage for his own use. Someone saw the boat, liked the craftsmanship in it, but wanted a bigger boat. Clint decided to sell his boat, enlarged his grandmotherโs garage and built the bigger boat. News spread about the craftsmanship in his boats and his business took off. Three years later Clint needed more room. He bought the land and building in his present location and has continued to grow his business. One of his customers, Lafayette WorkBarge Rentals, requested bigger boats for their fleet. They were in need of boats from 32 to 42 feet. Clint added a shop crane to his shop so that he could rotate the large hulls for bottom welding. Clint works with a marine architect in the design of his boats. He also has a rigging expert available to custom rig any boat that he builds
