How well do you know the rules of the road when it comes to driving, walking, and biking? Bernards Township, in partnership with RideWise, has launched a Street Smart pedestrian safety campaign and wants to hear from you. As part of the campaign, the Township is conducting a survey to learn how well the community understands pedestrian, bicycle, and driving safety laws. The World Cup is coming and fast! One of the world's largest sporting events kicks off on June 11. The first match at MetLife Stadium will be Saturday, June 13, with eight matches in all played locally, including the July 19 final. Keep this schedule handy https://nynjfwc26.com/schedule/ and remember to work from home, if possible, on match days. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) expects match-day traffic "to resemble the impacts typically associated with major emergency situations or severe weather events." NJDOT suggests avoiding non-essential travel between five hours before and five hours after kickoff.

What a great day on two wheels! On Saturday, June 6, the Somerville Police Department and RideWise partnered to host a fun, hands-on bike rodeo for children ages 6 and up. Young riders built their skills and confidence through obstacle courses, safety lessons, helmet fittings, and helmet decorating. Missed this one? Join us for the next community rodeo on Wednesday, June 17, hosted in partnership with the Bound Brook PTO and the Bound Brook Education Association. Happening Wednesday, June 17, the Bound Brook PTO, in partnership with the Bound Brook Education Association and RideWise, will host a free bike rodeo.

• Date: Wednesday, June 17
• Time: 2:00-4:00 PM
• Location: Bound Brook Recreation Tea Street Complex (paved lot)
• Ages: 7-13 (can ride a bike without training wheels)

The event will feature hands-on bike safety education through obstacle courses, safety tips, and helmet & bike fittings. Limited bicycles & helmets will be available at no cost to participants, provided on a first-come, first-served basis, based on signup order.
