It is with great sadness to announce our former mechanic, Billy Holcomb passed away January 2, 2026.
I met Billy at a gas station on Hwy 78 when I was headed to HeavyQuip to pick up tractor parts. He came over to me to see if he could help me jump off Lamar's pickup. I pulled out the extra long screwdriver to short the starter for the truck to start. We struck up a conversation about the sprockets I had in the back of the truck. I gave him our shop number. He called a short time later and Lamar hired him.
Billy became like a son to Lamar. Billy was there to help Lamar to do anything at anytime. My mother worked with us for a time and she too felt the same way. It was a reunion of sorts when Billy and Robyn ended up at the shop. That was a long time from the Tri State days. We were saddened when Billy left for a time, but he returned and stayed until a short time after Lamar passed away.
We don't understand the way life happens. Bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people. God's plan is always on time. We lost touch over the last five years, but the memories last forever. I'm thankful during the times of heartbreaking loss, we were there for him and his family. Blessings come in many forms and we were blessed to have been a part of the journey.
Thank you Billy for all you did to make a difference. Prayers to your family and friends who will hold these memories in their hearts forever.
I'm sure you and Lamar are catching up in Heaven. May God continue to bless us all as we face the days ahead.
