Randy Keeling doesn't just drive Freedom 39. The first Thursday morning he took the bus out on the road, he went home and wrote a song about it.

Four minutes and he sings it from the bus's point of view with members of his family as the backing band. A talented group of motorcoach professionals we are fortunate to have on our staff here at Campbell Bus Lines.

Campbell Bus Lines professional motorcoach operator Randy Keeling walked into a garage, saw her for the first time, and gave her a name.

Freedom 39.

He was proud to drive bus five, bus fifteen, bus twenty-five. But this one, he says, means something. He calls her a special lady, and he isn't joking.

Episode 2 asks three people what freedom actually means — a driver, a designer, and an owner. And somewhere in the middle of it, an Army veteran walks across a hotel parking lot in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, with something to say.

Ask any of them what they remember, and the story starts on the bus.

Falling asleep somewhere in Georgia. Waking up in Florida. Getting off after an overnight ride and going straight into the park. And then marching down Main Street at the Magic Kingdom with 150 of your closest friends.

This spring we carried the Hampton High School Marching Band to Orlando and back, and we brought a camera along for it.

The 250th was the brief from day one.

Eight concepts. About 1,000 square feet of vinyl. Several days on the install.

One brand-new Prevost H3-45, out of Slippery Rock Town-Crier.

America turned 250 this year, and we wanted to mark it somewhere people would actually see it. Not a poster. Not an ad. Out on the road, where we've been for 57 years.
