We are a pet-friendly company, so we will not forbid you to take your pets with you. But, they are some rules. Make sure to follow them and everyone will be happy. Especially your furry friends!🐱🐶

First of all— no huge animals. 🐘🚫

We know that some of you may be disappointed, but that rule exists for a reason. Huge animals may disrupt you from driving. And you know that the road is a dangerous place, where a single wrong move may result in an accident.
So, if your pet’s size is cat-like—feel free to take it with you. Otherwise—don’t!
The other rule is not really a rule. Take care of it. We know that you may be tired after a long day on the road, but your pet may not be as understanding.
Do not forget to spend time with it when it wants to.
But you will hopefully do it without us reminding you about that!😉

Now that you know the rules—feel free to take your little buddies with you! 🐈🐕

It’s needed to understand that the dispatcher you work with is someone who wants to help you, not your rival☝️

There should be teamwork required of the two of you🤝

So if there is a question about how you will be working next, try and figure out a solution together instead of just expecting them to tell you what to do.

It’s important for both parties to learn how to communicate their needs without being frustrated or angry with each other. 👐

To make it even clearer, you should take into account that both of you work for the same company and thus have the same goals to achieve (at least to get the load to the needed location).

Here are some tips to follow if you want to have good relations with your dispatcher 👇🏻

📌Think positive and look for solutions
Why? We need to look on the bright side. You will get frustrated with a situation if you think it's impossible or if you start blaming the dispatcher without making any effort to solve it. This will lead to bad relations and even a bad reputation for you as a driver.

📌Avoid arguing
You might not like the decision your dispatcher makes, but that doesn’t mean you should start arguing about it. Keep in mind that your dispatcher is only trying to do their job and make the best decision for you, the customer, and the company. If you still think their actions are unjustified, try to talk to them calmly and explain why you think it’s not a good idea. But don’t be rude.

📌Offer insight and advice
You need to understand each other’s duties to successfully cooperate and offer help when it’s needed. Communication is key!

📌 Be respectful
The most important thing to consider is respect. Keep in mind that both of you are needed for the company. The best what you can do is to know that you can count on each other for support.

I was a transportation broker for a number of years. 🛻
One of those years we obtained government contracts for the transfer of “undisclosed hazardous materials.”
We were under restrictions to keep everything about these loads confidential: from the trucking companies to whom we brokered these loads to their specific locations.

Every single day, we had to give hourly updates to an internal agency about the status of our drivers. Each load required a team in order to minimize stopping time. These trucks had specific instructions to not stop for more than a half hour throughout the itinerary nor to open the contents of the trailer. Their location was constantly monitored by a GPS coupled with a timer to ensure these conditions were met.

We have had many of these contracted loads without any notable issues. However, one day proved different.
During this day, one of our truckers was stopped by DOT (Department of Transportation).
The officer demanded the drivers to open the trailer to reveal the unidentified contents. Our drivers cited our contract with our client, stating that we could not open the trailer under any circumstances. However, the DOT was persistent, and broke the electronic seal himself. Our systems at dispatch were frozen immediately.
👀To the officer’s surprise, the trailer contained Tomahawk missiles used by the Department of Defense.
Two Apache helicopters were scrambled from the nearest AFB and the DOT officer was taken into custody (later to be released)😂.

Turns out, the transportation of contents such as this are quite common. Since they are concealed in a dry van, however, the public is completely unsuspecting.
Never saw that coming! Be on the lookout for more tales!👀

👉New Mexico bill to keep big rigs in the right lane advances
Lawmakers in New Mexico have advanced legislation that would require semi trucks to stay in the right lane, with exceptions. Last Wednesday, the New Mexico State Senate approved Senate Bill 174 by a 33-5 vote.
👉The bill was introduced by Sen. George Munoz.
The bill would require that “a truck tractor attached to a freight trailer operated on the interstate highway system and outside the boundaries of a municipality shall drive in the right-hand lane except when overtaking another vehicle or approaching a stationary authorized emergency vehicle or a recovery or repair vehicle displaying flashing emergency or hazard lights.”
👉Munoz says that the bill is intended to cut down on traffic delays, particularly on I-40. Failure to remain in the right lane would result in a $200 fine.

First rule: no neglect! ☝️
Forgetting about your back may lead to many problems in the future.
You don’t want to pay huge sums just before you forgot to make some exercises, right?

So, put on your sweatband, play some 80-s workout music, it’s time to do some exercises!

🏋️‍♂️Transverse Core Strengthening
This strengthens the muscles that cross from your ribs across your waist and helps support you in an upright position. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and toes turned in very slightly. Hold a ball directly in front of you. Keep your abdominal muscles tight and feet flat on the floor; rotate from side to side. Repeat 10 times.

🏋️‍♂️Sagittal Core Strengthening
You can stretch and strengthen the low back muscles that help you stand and lift. Stand with feet shoulder width apart, about 18″ in front of a wall, with your back to the wall. Tighten your abdominal muscles, then reach through your legs to touch the wall, keeping hips and knees bent. Use your hips to push your body back to a standing position, then extend your arms and reach over your head and slightly backward. Repeat 10 times.

🏋️‍♂️Abdominal Crunch
Draw abdominal wall inward, exhale as you lift chest area. This can be done with quick short movements, or slow full movements. Repeat 10-15 times, to fatigue.

🏋️‍♂️Abdominal Exercise
Lay on your back with both knees bent. Draw abdominal wall in. Maintaining abdominal wall drawn in, extend one leg. If your abdominal wall lift ups or your back arches, your leg is too close to the floor. Return leg and extend other leg. Repeat to fatigue. Repeat 10-15 times at a slow and controlled pace.

🏋️‍♂️Resistance Training
Resistance training is exercise done against something providing resistance. It can be done with weights, hand-held or training machines, or using isometric techniques.
Common household items, like small canned goods, can be used instead of hand weights.

Ask your doctor or physical therapist to prescribe an exercise program that matches your abilities. 🍀

If you are a truck driver, you know how many long hours you spend on the road. If you are uncomfortable in your cab, they can feel even longer. Hours and days spent sitting behind the wheel can wreak havoc on your neck, back and hips if you aren’t careful😕

🎈The good news is, with a bit of thought and consideration, you can make your cab much more comfortable. If you follow these three tips for a healthier driving lifestyle, you will avoid long-term pain and start to enjoy your time on the road much more.

🪑Your Seat Really take time and think about your seat first before you invest money in any other section of your cab. It’s where you spend almost all of your time. If you are looking to make your seat a bit easier to sit in for more than 30 minutes at a time, look for a seat cover that includes lumbar support. You may also want to find some sort of seat cushion that supports your posture, keeps your back in a healthy position and prevents you from slouching behind the wheel.

🛏Your Bed As a long-haul driver, you are required to sleep in your truck now and again. If so, you already have a cab that was designed with this purpose in mind, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it more comfortable. Invest in a quality mattress pad, good pillows and warm blankets. If there is a window in your cab that lets the light in when you are trying to sleep, install a small curtain or light-blocking window film. Also, consider buying earbuds to block out exterior noise and a sleeping eye mask to keep out any other light. These are quite cheap and make a huge difference on your ability to fall asleep and stay asleep.

📦Small-Space Storage You’ll be more comfortable if your cab is neat and tidy, so you should invest in a few pieces of storage. Small bins, hanging laundry bags and other organizers can help you keep your belongings both in reach and out of the way. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to organize your cab. Knowing where all of your belongings are will reduce your stress levels and keep you more relaxed while you drive.

📍Make sure to follow these tips! They will improve the quality of your driving time tenfold!I

🎈Humans always seem to want something. As soon as they get it, they change their object of obsession immediately.
🪄After buying a new phone, they want a new TV, and after that, a new car.
This example is simplistic, but the problem applies to pretty much everything.
Let’s find out how to break that never-ending circle of consumerism for the sake of living a happy life.🍀
📍First of all, you need to understand that you are the master of your life. 🤷
📍No one has the right to tell you what you have to do, what you have to buy, or how you should spend your time. You can listen to someone’s advice, but it’s up to you to decide whether you should follow it. When you’ll understand that, you will make a first step toward breaking the dependence on people’s opinions and thus, towards a happy life. Next, you need to review your priorities. 📌
📍Think about the things you want. Do you need a new phone? Your old phone is still working properly and you do not need to dispose of it. Should you buy any new clothes just for the sake of being fashionable?
📍There is a saying that fashion is a blind idiot, running in circles. Do not buy things you do not need, and you will not only be satisfied with what you already have but will also save a lot of money in the process.
📍Think about your dreams. 🧠
What do you REALLY want to do? Make up a plan and follow it, no matter what people may say. Yes, maybe it is something silly, like owning a pig. But hey, we only live once, so why not? You will be happy and everyone around you will be jealous of your happiness.
Remember, your happiness depends only on yourself!💪

Hi👋🏻!
Glad to have you here! Brew yourself a cup of something warm☕️, get comfy. And start reading!
I was driving interstate from Victoria to New South Wales, along the Hume Highway. Nightfall came gradually, but the darkness hit quickly as a thunderstorm rolled in. I turned on my headlights at pretty much the same time the rain hit. As it turned out, my headlights failed soon after switching them on, then the windscreen wipers swung across twice and stopped. I also had no CB radio in the truck, as it was also an old snotter! I had passed through a town about 5 minutes back, but being a divided carriageway, there weren't any options to turn back. A B-Double passed me and thankfully, he noticed I was having problems. So he remained just ahead of me, flashing his hazard lights every time there was a downed tree branch crossing our lane (it was a decent storm!). The regular lightning flashes helped me to see intermittently, but otherwise I could only see the road between me and the B-Double. The shoulders of the road weren't available for some reason (maintenance works from memory), so I couldn't safely pull over there. There were roadside rest stops every now and then, but they had no lighting and I couldn't see the off ramps until I was next to them. I ended up following the B-Double until I reached a roadhouse just before Gundagai, 130kms after my lights failed. Once safely stopped and with enough lighting available to look for ways to fix the faults, I managed to get the headlights working with the foil from my cigarette packet and bought some rain-x at the roadhouse to negate the need for wipers. The storm had mostly passed by then anyway, so it wasn't raining as heavily. How convenient! But I got back on the road and made my destination in the scheduled time.

Unfortunately, the cases of truck's mirrors breaking are becoming more widespread. Especially on truck stops.🚚⛽️
📍To protect your truck you can put a video camera inside to capture the moment when your mirror was hit.
📹 If you do not have access to such devices, ask the truck stop security whether they have cameras around. This will also help you to identify those who harmed your vehicle.
📍Either way, after learning the identity of those who did that, make sure to repair your vehicle (you can do it at the Truck Stop itself) and report the suspects.

Stay safe, friends!✋
