Friends of Skamokawa/River Life Interpretive Center

Friends of Skamokawa/River Life Interpretive Center Friends of Skamokawa's Central School Building is 126 years old this year. Visitors may enjoy our interpretive center, gift shop, book store and exhibits!

The Hall was originally dedicated on July 4, 1894 as a school. In 1926, a larger school was built and in 1933, the building was moved to avoid demolition when State Route 4 was built. The building was purchased and used until the 1950's by The Improved Order of Red Men. The Friends of Skamokawa Foundation purchased it in 1987 and it now operates as an interpretive center with award-winning exhibit
