Holy cow! $4.50 gas? Can it be true?!?! Yes it is!!! We just got word yesterday that we are expecting construction to begin mid/late next week on the fuel farm! As we have quite a bit of fuel left in the tank, we need to sell quite a bit of volume and FAST! As such, between now and when construction starts (Wed/Thur most likely), we will be selling fuel below cost at $4.50 a gallon! (Up to 1300 gallons)

We are expecting construction to last 3-4 weeks during which time no fuel will be available! There will be a small 85 gallon tank on site for fueling emergencies only (but they will have to contact the airport manager 860-459-1575 and arrange to dispense) and a larger tank for flight school use only (as they will be buying the entire load).

Hi All, for those nearby to Simsbury Airport today, the local EAA Chapter is hosting a Young Eagles event for kids ages 8-17. It’s a great program designed to introduce kids to aviation. There is no cost but capacity is limited and on a first come/first serve basis. If you intend to show up after 9:30am please call first (860-459-1575) to make sure there is still space.

Did you know it's ? Speaking of which, people are welcome to bring well behaved dogs to the airport and walk them in the field west of the runway. (Please keep at least 75ft from the runway). Please be considerate and pick up/throw out any droppings they may leave behind.

We often get asked a lot about Simsbury Airport itself and things like how one goes about learning to fly, about the fuel for the planes, etc. Please stop by our new airport website www.simsburyairport.com for all your answers!

The airport and runway are back open at Simsbury Airport. Approximately 6:50pm a Beechcraft Sundowner overran the departure end of the runway on landing. The pilot was thankfully not injured. Our thanks go out to the Simsbury Fire/Police and all the emergency responders for their quick response and efforts!
