** SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT **

We would like to let all of our Facebook followers know that Kevin and I have decided to retire from the towing business after 40 years! This has been a very difficult decision for us but it is the right decision for our family. We would like to thank all of our loyal employees, dear friends, and business customers for supporting us over the years.

Effective March 31, 2022 at 5pm we will officially close the business for towing and roadside service. Our office will remain open Monday-Friday from 8-5pm to allow customers to retrieve their vehicle if it was impounded and/or pick up personal property.

This recovery gives the "black lagoon" a whole new meaning.
A few years ago this truck came off the 118 freeway way too fast and failed to negotiate the turn at the bottom of the off ramp. The truck drove in between two palm trees and landed in the pool at Motel 6.
Due to the large amount of oil and diesel fuel in the water we felt it was too much of a health hazard to go into the water to hook up, so we hooked the straps/cables through cab of the truck as well as to the trailer hitch. The recovery was a success!

Job Description:

Dave's Towing Service is a family owned towing company in Simi Valley, CA. We are looking for a qualified tow truck driver/operator with a wide variety of skills to perform light and medium duty towing and roadside service and advance into heavy duty towing and recovery. We tow for all local law enforcement agencies and have a police impound garage. We also provide towing and roadside service to the general public, commercial accounts and a variety of motor clubs. We have very high standards that we hold our employees to. Safety and professionalism is our number 1 priority. Salary is based on license class and towing experience.

Tow truck drivers/operators will have a set schedule and will be required to rotate night, weekend and holiday shifts as needed.

Qualified Candidates Must:

Possess a valid California Driver's License
Maintain a good driving record
Be 23 years or older
Live in geographical area which will allow timely response to calls from home after hours, as required
Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol testing and random drug testing thereafter
Pass Live Scan background check through DOJ and FBI
Have basic math and writing skills necessary for paperwork
Maintain good personal hygiene and a neat appearance
Have good verbal communication skills and clearly speak English
Be a team player and have the ability to learn and a moderate pace

Job Duties:

Respond to calls dispatched and provide professional and courteous service to customers
Perform emergency roadside service: tire changes, jump starts, lock-outs, fuel delivery, towing, accident recovery and police impound towing and/or recovery
Must be able to work in all kinds of weather including cold, heat and rain
Fill out invoices and collect payment from completed jobs. Invoices and paperwork must be prepared legibly, correct and turned in on time
Perform basic maintenance/repairs on truck including maintaining fluid levels and turn in daily pre-trip truck inspection forms
Must have the ability to learn how to drive and operate flatbed and wheel-lift tow trucks
We follow all Covid-19 precautions in order to keep our employees and customers as safe as possible.

One of the few benefits of being slow the past few weeks is that we were able to take new photos of our fleet. All but one of our trucks have been updated since the last photo shoot. Special thanks to all of our wonderful employees for getting their trucks nice and shiny!! It was a beautiful day.
