Snow Removal: The Hard Way

Truck drivers often bear the responsibility of removing snow from their vehicle roofs. However, some methods can put drivers at risk. The options for clearing snow from rooftops include climbing to the top of the trailer with a shovel, using a snow rake specifically designed for tractor trailers from the ground, or driving through an automated snow removal machine. While the shovel and rake are traditional approaches, they are time-consuming and endanger drivers and employees.

While the shovel or rake are considered more traditional methods, they take time and put
drivers and employees in harm’s way. Manually removing snow from trailers that are 12-plus feet tall requires people using snow brushes and rakes, as well as ladders. In wintry conditions, the possibility of slipping increases, as do injuries such as sprained or broken ankles and legs or separated shoulders. Additionally, even the best snow brush and snow rake for tractor trailers still pulls snow downward near (or onto) the person clearing the snow. The physical exertion of manually removing snow for extended periods can also result in cardiac events.

Remove Snow Safely: The Easy Way

Manually removing snow with traditional methods like the above can be costly and hazardous. Thankfully, there is a solution that enables quick, safe, and efficient snow removal from trucks and trailers—Arctic Air Snow Removal Systems.

These systems help keep fleets clean and on schedule. Snow removal doesn’t have to be a labor-intensive ordeal fraught with the risk of injury and stress with manual means, or the possibility of damaging your expensive fleet like scraper systems. There’s a safer, more efficient way to remove snow from tall trailer rooftops: high pressure warm air.
This seemingly simple concept can provide substantial safety and efficiency benefits. Removing snow from truck and trailer roofs can help reduce the risk of ice missiles creating turmoil and death on North American roadways. Before Arctic Air Snow Removal Systems, scrapping has been the primary method for removing snow from the roofs of trucks and other fleet vehicles.
Arctic Air Snow Removal Systems offer a range of key advantages for efficient snow removal from trucks and trailers. They operate without physical contact, minimizing the risk of damage such as scratches or dents. These portable systems can be easily moved, optimizing yard space as needed. With automated operation, drivers can conveniently operate the machine without leaving their vehicles, enhancing both convenience and efficiency. Furthermore, these systems exhibit remarkable weather resilience, remaining effective even in extreme conditions such as heavy snowfall, freezing temperatures, or icy environments.

In terms of maintenance, Arctic Air Snow Removal Systems have fewer moving parts compared to other systems, resulting in lower maintenance requirements. Additionally, their no-contact nature minimizes wear and tear on the vehicles, reducing the frequency of repairs or component replacements. The systems are also versatile, capable of adapting to different truck types and designs. This makes them a suitable option for fleet vehicles or trucks with various roof configurations.

By utilizing powerful air jets, these systems enable swift and efficient snow removal, significantly reducing the time and effort needed compared to manual methods or scraping techniques. Finally, there is no additional cleanup required, as the machine directs the snow into designated collection areas or drainage ditches, allowing it to melt and drain away naturally.

Conclusion

Arctic Air Snow Removal Systems offer a comprehensive solution that ensures safe and efficient snow removal, while protecting the vehicles’ integrity and optimizing operational efficiency. From minimizing damage risks to providing versatility and reducing maintenance needs, these systems streamline the snow removal process and offer notable benefits to truck and trailer owners.

Embracing this innovative technology not only enhances safety but also saves time, resources, and costs associated with manual snow removal methods and scrapper methods. Overall, Arctic Air Snow Removal Systems offer a superior alternative for keeping fleets clean, efficient, and in compliance with snow laws, ultimately benefiting the transportation industry as a whole. Winter paints a beautiful landscape, but it also brings its own set of challenges for the trucking industry and vehicle owners alike. At Arctic Air Snow Removal Systems, we have seen firsthand the damages and risks associated with neglecting the crucial task of removing snow from vehicle roofs. As we dive into the domino effect of leaving snow unattended on your vehicle, we’ll highlight why it’s essential to utilize effective snow removal machines, like the ones we offer, to keep everyone safe.

The Chain Reaction

Picture this: A semi truck barrels down a highway. Unbeknownst to the driver, a thick layer of snow on its roof is ready to slide off. As this snow sheet descends, it hits the vehicle behind, obscuring the driver’s view, or worse, causing a crash. This domino effect isn’t just exclusive to semi truck snow removal; it’s a concern for all kinds of vehicles, from school buses to trailers.

The Solution is in the Air

Traditional scraper systems, such as the truck snow scraper or the trailer snow scraper, can often damage the vehicle’s surface. This is where our innovative approach steps in. The Arctic Air Snow Removal System is not just another snow removal vehicle or tool. We’ve designed our snow removal machines to use air pressure, efficiently clearing snow from roofs without causing any harm. Whether you’re looking for semi trailer snow removal, snow removal from tractor trailer roofs, or school bus snow removal, our equipment is tailored to meet varied needs.

Beyond Individual Vehicles: Thinking of Larger Fleets

For those in fleet maintenance or trucking maintenance, the task of snow removal becomes even more daunting. Ensuring each vehicle in a fleet is snow-free is crucial for safety. But, it’s also important for trucking maintenance. Ignoring snow can lead to long-term damages, pushing up repair costs. Our snow removal systems are designed for this very challenge, providing effective snow removal for trailers, trucks, and more.

This is where fleet management services play a pivotal role. Ensuring that each vehicle, be it a truck or trailer, is adequately cleared of snow is not just about avoiding immediate accidents. It’s about comprehensive fleet service, ensuring that vehicles remain in prime condition and that safety remains paramount.

Making the Right Choice

When you think of snow removal equipment, the options might seem endless. Snow removal tools for trucks, snow removal machines, and various snow removal systems might cloud the decision-making process. However, consider this: not all snow removing solutions are made equal. Some might offer a quick fix but come with the peril of damaging your vehicles. On the other hand, solutions like ours ensure effective snow removing without any collateral damage.

In conclusion, the domino effect of snow on vehicle roofs is a concern we can no longer afford to ignore. Whether it’s truck snow removal, tractor trailer snow removal, school bus snow removal, or even simple truck trailer snow removal, the safety risks and potential for vehicular damage are all too real. At Arctic Air Snow Removal System, we’re not just providing snow removal equipment; we’re offering peace of mind. By investing in the right tools and systems, like ours, you ensure safety on the roads and longevity for your vehicles. Let’s prioritize safety and efficiency together, give us a call.

Snow and ice on roadways make for dangerous driving. However, when snow and ice blow off semi-trailers and trucks, the risk factors for drivers and carrier responsibility increase dramatically. Not surprisingly, many states have snow laws and impose fines on carriers who don’t sufficiently remove snow. Even in areas without specific snow laws, all commercial transport vehicles are required to secure their loads while on the road. Snow and ice on top of a trailer can be considered unsecured, leading to fines for drivers.

There are many time honored methods of removing snow buildup from vehicle roofs, snow better than others, and we will look into them here. As always, it is best to keep safety the number one priority when choosing any of the methods mentioned.

There three main methods are:

Climbing to the top of the trailer and using a shovel
(dangerous, time consuming, and labor intensive)
Using a snow rake from the ground
(dangerous, difficult with ice or heavy snow, time consuming, and labor intensive)
Driving through an automated snow removal machine
(quick, safe, and effective)

Arctic Air Snow Removal system
Snow and ice on roadways can present hazardous conditions for drivers. The danger is amplified when snow and ice are dislodged from large vehicles like semi-trailers and trucks. Carrier responsibility comes into play, with many states enacting snow laws that fine those who don’t sufficiently remove this winter debris. Regardless of local laws, commercial transport vehicles are mandated to secure their loads, making snow and ice atop trailers potential liabilities.

Historically, there have been several techniques for clearing snow from vehicle roofs, some of which are more efficient than others. It’s paramount to always prioritize safety when selecting from these methods.

The Three Roof Snow Removal Techniques:
Climbing atop the trailer and shoveling the snow away – a method that’s labor-intensive, time-consuming, and fraught with risk.
Employing a snow rake from the ground – another manual technique that becomes arduous with heavy snow or ice and poses danger.
Utilizing an automated snow removal machine like the Arctic Air Snow Removal Systems – an approach that stands out for its efficiency, safety, and speed.
Challenges with Conventional Methods
Though using a shovel or rake might be seen as time-honored methods, they expose drivers and employees to potential injuries. Manually clearing snow from towering trailers demands the use of tools like snow brushes and rakes, as well as ladders. In icy conditions, the risk of slips and falls, leading to injuries like sprained ankles or even cardiac events due to the intense physical effort, becomes significant. Plus, conventional tools often result in the snow falling close to or directly onto the person, increasing risks.

This doesn't surprise me at all. He lost my endorsement right after taking office when I tried to talk to him about proposing legislation dealing with ice missiles and how the stormwater managment act requires all Commercial properties to capture any and all percipitation including snow and ice to remain on the property after a snowstorm. That would eliminate the possibility of snow and ice flying off the rooftops of Commercial motor vehicles. Believe me, he doesn't care about his constituents or anyone else who drives on our roads and Highway's.
