86 truck operators arrested in just 3 days.
Operation Highway Shield targeted commercial vehicles across Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Ohio, leading to 766 drivers and vehicles being placed out of service.
Authorities also reported 51 undocumented immigrants detained, 36 English-language proficiency violations, and nearly $1 million in stolen cargo recovered.
Federal trucking enforcement is clearly getting more aggressive, and carriers need to make sure their drivers, paperwork, licensing, and equipment are fully compliant.
The big question is: Are crackdowns like this making the highways safer, or is enforcement going too far?
