🇺🇸 Memorial Day
Today isn’t just another day off, it’s a day to stop and really think about what it cost for us to live the lives we do.
Freedom isn’t free, and there are men and women who gave everything so we could have it. They weren’t just soldiers, they were someone’s kid, someone’s parent, someone’s friend.
We don’t know all their names, but we owe every single one of them.
So today, take a minute. Be grateful. Hug your people a little tighter. Appreciate the quiet moments we sometimes take for granted.
That’s how we honor them, by remembering, and by living in a way that makes their sacrifice matter.
❤️🤍💙

🇺🇸 Today, we honor those who stand watch for America. 🇺🇸

On , we pause to recognize the men and women serving in the United States Armed Forces — U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, United States Air Force, United States Space Force, and U.S. Coast Guard.

They serve on land, at sea, in the air, in space, and along our shores. They stand ready in moments of uncertainty, carry the weight of duty, and protect the freedoms we hold dear.

At Taps for Veterans, we know that service is more than a uniform. It is sacrifice. It is commitment. It is love of country.

Today, we thank all who serve — and we remember that behind every salute, every folded flag, and every sounding of Taps is a promise:

We will honor service. We will remember sacrifice. We will never take freedom for granted.

24 Notes. One Final Promise.

As wildfire season begins, some missions have launched, ready to support smokejumpers across Alaska and the Lower 48.

✈️ Missoula, MT – N993BH
✈️ Fairbanks, AK – N992BH & N117BH
✈️ McCall, ID – N263MC
✈️ Grangeville, ID – N257MC
✈️ Boise, ID – N255BH

These aircraft help deliver highly trained smokejumpers to remote areas where they’re needed most, before fires can grow larger and more dangerous.

We’re proud of our crews, grateful for our partners and communities, and ready for the season ahead.

Pride runs deep today. 🇺🇸
I want to take a moment to recognize the very real impact of the work done at our FBO. every day.
Recent reporting highlighted a U.S. Air Force C‑130 rescue mission that successfully recovered a downed American airman overseas in April 2026. That 48‑hour mission, executed under extreme conditions, has been widely credited to intensive, specialized training conducted right here in Wyoming nearly three years earlier.
That training exercise, Exercise Agile Chariot, took place April 30–May 2, 2023, and involved Air Force Special Operations MC‑130J aircraft, Army special operations helicopters, and joint personnel conducting highway landings, rapid offload operations, and personnel recovery scenarios on remote Wyoming highways.
During that period, Sheridan County Airport and our FBO were part of the regional support network that made those operations possible, providing services, logistics, responsiveness, and professionalism that allowed crews to train exactly as they would fight.
Military analysts later described Agile Chariot as a “near dress rehearsal” for the real‑world rescue mission. The same aircraft types, tactics, and sequencing were used, down to the rapid offloading of helicopters from C‑130s to extract a downed airman.

March Madness… BHA Edition!
Sure, the basketball world has its March Madness…
But at Bighorn Airways, we’re playing our own championship bracket:

Weather vs. Flight Schedule
Pilots vs. Training Requirements
Ops vs. “Why is this wind like this today?”
Line Crew vs. A Whole Lot of Airplanes
Everyone vs. Not Eating All the Warm Cookies

Between SMJ prep, surprise storms, and aircraft that suddenly decide they want attention, it’s a full‑court press from sunrise to sunset.

Meanwhile, the FBO is hopping with hangar requests, de‑ice needs, and customers who magically appear the second the cookies come out of the oven. (Coincidence? We think not.)

But through all the chaos, our Line Department is absolutely CRUSHING it with training, teamwork, and top‑tier customer service.

To our customers:
Thanks for flying with us during the madness — we’re glad you’re here!

To our crew:
Keep bringing the hustle. You make the madness look good.

Kicking off the 2026 smokejumper season! Our pilots are in training and getting ready for the year ahead.

The CASA is back in action for the 2026 smokejumper season, and our crews are putting it through its paces. Its reliability, payload capacity, and short‑field performance make it a cornerstone of our operations. As pilot training ramps up, this aircraft will play a critical role in getting our jumpers where they need to be.
