To better serve our customers during the derby, the Seward Harbor Office will be open daily from 6:00 AM–9:00 PM throughout the event.

Whether you’re heading out for the big one or coming back in with your catch, our harbor staff will be here to help!

🐦 Interested in Helping Monitor Alaska’s Beaches? 🌊

The Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (COASST) is hosting a Beached Bird Surveyor Training based in Alaska on August 5, 2026, and they are looking for volunteers!

COASST volunteers come from all different backgrounds, but they all share a love of the beach and an interest in helping scientists better understand Alaska’s coastal environment. Volunteers participate in monthly beach surveys and help collect valuable information about seabirds and the health of our marine ecosystems.

If you enjoy spending time on the beach and would like to make a difference while getting outside once a month, this could be a great opportunity for you!

If you’re interested in learning more or signing up, please reach out to the COASST team or visit the Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (COASST) website for more information.

Service has been restored!

⚠️ Phone Service Outage Notice ⚠️

The Seward Harbor Office is currently experiencing a system-wide phone outage that is preventing us from making phone calls . At this time, we do not have an estimated time for when service will be restored.

If you need immediate assistance, please contact us by email at [email protected] or visit the Harbor Office in person during normal business hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while the issue is being resolved. We will provide an update as soon as phone service has been restored.

UPDATE: USCG VHF Ch 16 distress listening watch has been restored.

The Coast Guard does not have a Channel 16 distress listening watch in the following areas: Seward, Southwestern PWS, Resurrection Bay, and Blying Sound. Mariners are requested to relay distress calls in these areas to the nearest Coast Guard unit or contact Coast Guard Sector Western Alaska and U.S. Arctic at (866) 396-1361.

The Seward Harbor Office will be open during our regular business hours on Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Whether you're arriving for the holiday weekend, checking in, purchasing moorage, or need assistance while enjoying the harbor, our staff will be here to help.

Join us at the harbor for one of Seward's favorite Independence Day traditions—the annual Fourth of July fireworks display!

Whether you're watching from your boat or along the waterfront, we hope you'll enjoy an unforgettable evening with family, friends, and our incredible community.

As you make your way to and from the harbor, please help keep everyone safe:
🚶 Be aware of heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
🚤 Operate vessels at safe speeds and be courteous to fellow boaters.
🗑️ Help keep our harbor clean by disposing of trash properly.
