Not every emergency landing is in an empty lot in Anchorage.

You ever been to a fly-in community? There’s more than a few. When a plane is your lifeline, you want that plane in pretty good condition.

So if your plane is across Kachemak Bay or Cook Inlet, how do you get parts?

We’ve delivered props, dashboards, custom-machined parts for planes so old it’s easier to make one than find one. Bush tires too. Sometimes it’s someone’s nephew pulling up in a pickup at a remote crossroad. Sometimes it’s a shop nobody’s been to in three months, until someone flies in for that one needed part. We work with you.

Not every carrier will drop at a dock that isn’t on a map. We do.

Road Report for Wednesday Oct 14

Well it’s happening. Frost & icing on the roads.

Kinda like a cake without any of the fun. (Sounded funnier in my head) 🤔😁

Here’s the facts: Around Hope junction it’s foggy, icy from the Y through the pass, not terrible, but enough to keep you very aware of how fast you are going.

Still a nice day to drive. Fairly clear everywhere else

Road Report for Tuesday Oct 13th

Seward to Anchorage

Well its foggy again (in some spots) with light icing on the road around Turnagain Pass. Not terrible but enough to make you aware of it and be a bit careful.

Termination dust is also getting lower on the mountains.

Overall a decent driving day.

What if you didn’t have to run to Anchorage from Kenai to grab supplies?

We do it every day. You don’t have to.

Think about what that trip really costs. A full day and a tank of gas, and everything else on your list waits. Often for one box, one part, or one set of tires you couldn’t get closer to home.

If you’re in Kenai, Soldotna, or Sterling, plenty of people have just accepted that drive as part of living out here.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

Our trucks are already headed that direction. If what you need is in Anchorage, it can ride back with us and get dropped at your door on the Peninsula.

Not everything can make it the same day. Some things can. Either way, why not check?

What helps most is scheduling ahead. When your delivery is planned into the truck, nobody’s stuck wondering whether there’s room for it that day.

We have taken moose mounts, skid steer attachments, eyeglasses, bulk groceries, business supplies, car parts and soooo much more to people near you on the Peninsula.

Roads are wet with temps ranging from 33-39F but no noticed ice spots.

Kind of getting to the edge of ice but haven't seen any yet so that is nice.

Seward to Anchorage

Honestly, we shouldn't even share this and in the future we likely won't.

The roads are great. Sunrise was fantastic.

Foggy around the Hope junction until MP 61 or so (Before 10AM)

We are loving the weather. Trees are amazing in the contrasts, not much traffic compared to the summer season.

Seward to Anchorage
AND
Seward to Soldotna (heading to Homer)

Some foggy spots (around 9AM) but not really any icy places to watch for. None noticed anyway.

What's more expensive? Buying and shipping a heating oil tank, or filling it?

Most people guess wrong. (Probably not you though..)

The tank itself, even a 500 gallon one, is the easy part. Big. Awkward, with different support than a normal load. But it's just a tank. Load it right and it rides fine.

Filling it is the part that actually costs you. Let alone three..

October is when people start dealing with this before the cold really sets in. The tank shows up first. The bill for what goes inside it shows up all winter.

We handle the part that's actually simple. Get the tank where it needs to go, strapped down right, no drama.

The rest of it is between you and the fuel truck.
