PSA specifically to the tenants of the Seward Airport: Great News!! We will begin building a new set of T-Hangars “F Row” just on the east side of “E-Row” : If you have several people flying your aircraft, using your hangar, flight instruction, etc…., it is YOUR responsibility to pass this information on to them.

Here’s what you need to know: Staging and construction will begin on Monday, July 15th. There will be a NOTAM in place closing the east side of E-Row hangars. This will specifically affect Hangars E1; E3; E5; E7 and E9, but all airport users, including farming and haying operators need to be aware. E-Row hangars will be accessible but we CANNOT run or start engines in that area. All aircraft will need to be towed to the west side of E-Row before starting or running your engine. Tenants in E1; E3; E5; E7 and E9 if you know you’re going to be flying, we can tow your aircraft up to the Whisler Aviation hanger, or store it overnight for you for your convenience.

The construction will be divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 will be the dirt work and pouring the concrete. The concrete will need to sit for 30 days so there should be no workers on site during that time. At this point, it sounds like Phase 2 will start in December, which will be the er****on of the building and electrical. The project is scheduled to be completed in February.

Please be advised that 04-22 Runway (turf/grass runway) is closed effective immediately for leveling/dirt work. There has been a notam issued, so please keep up to date with that. At this point, we’re hoping to have it reopened by Friday, but we’re unsure if that will be the case.

Please join us in Seward Nebraska for our Nebraska chapter Antique Airplane Association flyin. Stearman biplanes featured but all airplanes encouraged and welcomed. Friday August 27 Saturday August 28. Great meals including Saturday noon cookout and Saturday evening steak feed and awards. Husker/Hawkeye air tour starting at Seward and on to Blakesburg Iowa for the National Antique Airplane Association flyin and then on to Galesburg Illinois for the 50th National Stearman flyin. Whisler Aviation is currently hiring for the following position: Grounds/Vehicle Upkeep and Aircraft Retrieval. Must have a clean driving record and be willing to travel periodically. CDL helpful, but will train the right candidate. We need a self motivated, hardworker who is mechanically inclined. Job includes, but not limited to, mowing, snow removal, hangar repairs, cleaning, vehicle upkeep and repairs and Aircraft retrieval.
