I meet so many wonderful people, but 3 really stood out in this short work week: This lovely lady and her son, and a gentleman from Italy (not pictured). She is 96 and was a child refugee from Warsaw whose parents escaped the Holocaust and reunited in the US. She shared her stories of love, hope and perseverance that I will never forget. My Italian friend was an older man whose excitement to finally experience Route 66 was so touching and contagious. He'd been dreaming of doing so for 50 years. Ahh, the magic of 66! ❤️

After getting some goodies at the farmers market and bakery in Pontiac, I timed it just right to get on a trolley tour this morning (offered only on Saturdays). It was fantastic! Robby is the driver and guide and is full of fun and interesting facts and stories. I had to go back and look around more on my own and check out the historic Route 4 bridge marker finally. The old Schlitz sign was a bonus. 🌞 🚗 🚎 😎 ❤️
