✈️ Before Advanced Air Mobility… Sebring Was Already There

Sebring Regional Airport played a role in NASA’s Small Aircraft Transportation System (SATS) — an early initiative designed to improve regional air mobility using small aircraft and community airports.

As part of this effort, Sebring served as a Florida test site, supporting technology demonstrations and helping explore how underutilized airports could connect communities more efficiently.

In October 2004, aircraft from across Florida converged at Sebring for a High Volume Operations (HVO) demonstration, testing new approaches to safely increase traffic at non-towered airports.

Today’s conversations around Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) build on many of these same ideas — reinforcing Sebring’s long-standing role in aviation innovation.

✈️ What is MOSAIC?

The FAA’s MOSAIC initiative could expand opportunities in general aviation—making flying more accessible and supporting pilot training.

For airports like Sebring, changes like this could mean more activity and new opportunities in the future.

MOSAIC has brought general aviation a remarkable gift: Fewer limitations, enhanced privileges, and a far wider selection of aircraft for pilots to choose from. But many in the GA community don't understand the new rule and how it applies to them.
