We were honored to host Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland aboard the James T. Quigg for a tug tour in Tacoma this week!

It was fitting to welcome her aboard a vessel built right here in the Puget Sound, a great reminder of the skilled maritime workforce and shipbuilding right in our own backyard.

Big shout-out to the crew of the James T. Quigg for a great visit! The Congresswoman had the chance to engage with our crew and hear their stories firsthand. We also talked about the Jones Act and the importance of protecting its integrity, along with building out the maritime workforce pipeline through investing in local training programs like Maritime|253 in Tacoma.

The USCG Sector Puget Sound Lunch and PNW AWO Member Roundtable brought together key voices from the maritime industry for a valuable afternoon of dialogue and connection. Representatives from Centerline, Kirby, Vane Brothers, Western Towboat, Crowley, Saltchuk, Lynden Transport, and Elliott Bay Design Group joined the discussion, reflecting the strength and collaboration within our regional maritime community.

A special thank you to our new Captain of the Port, Captain Michael Hunt, for hosting the gathering and sharing Sector Puget Sound's command priorities. His insights offered a clear picture of where the Coast Guard's focus lies in the months ahead, and the open exchange gave each company the chance to provide updates on current waterway conditions, operations, and challenges, a reminder of how much stronger our industry is when we communicate openly with one another and with our Coast Guard partners.

Equal thanks go to Peter Schrappen, Vice President – Pacific Region & Regional Team Lead at AWO, for skillfully leading the roundtable. Peter kept the room engaged and well-informed on the legislative, regulatory, and safety developments shaping our industry today, ensuring the conversation stayed both relevant and productive.

Grateful for the continued partnership between industry and the Coast Guard. Events like this strengthen the relationships that keep our waterways safe and efficient.

The Seattle Airshow was cancelled due to high winds, but the practice sure wasn't! The U.S. Navy Blue Angels were flying high during their practice over our office last week!

Our SoCal team attended the SOPE Golf Tournament. ⛳️

Team Centerline completed the scramble shooting 10 under par and had a great time catching up with port partners and the local Marine Exchange plus a few of our vendors and other companies we work with in the harbor.

We're grateful for these relationships and the opportunity to strengthen them off the water.
