Living in the city with a family is an expensive choice in most major metros — and much costlier than living in the suburbs. In fact, the city of Seattle has led the nation with the most quickly growing house/property costs for the last two consecutive years!

In 2016 The National Census of Domestic Violence Resources found that in Seattle, in a single day, 732 requests from domestic violence survivors were turned down because programs lacked adequate resources to provide emergency shelter, housing, transportation, childcare, legal advocacy, and other services.
