Something the Virgin regulars know that first timers usually do not: there are cabins on that ship with genuinely strange layouts, and they sit in the same category as perfectly normal ones.

The ship is not a rectangle. It is a ship. That means odd corners, unusual angles, and rooms that do not match the picture you had in your head when you booked.

I have filmed a lot of room tours by now, and I still walk into a cabin sometimes and think, whoa, this is different. This looks nothing like the last one I saw in this exact category.

If it is your first sailing you may never notice, and that is a real answer. If you are coming back for a second, you will spot it the moment you open the door.

Plenty of people genuinely do not care. If it is for you, it is for you. If it is not, it is not.

Top question we get: how much bar tab should I buy? We built a calculator that answers it 🤯 How many drinks a day are you?

There is no drink package on Virgin Voyages, so you are either pre-buying a bar tab or paying as you go. Most sailors pick a round number and hope. A $100 tab gets you almost nothing, and nobody wants to leave money sitting on a tab they never spent.

So we built the bar tab calculator, and it is live on the site now. You put in your voyage details:

- How many nights you are sailing
- Your Sailing Club status
- Your cabin type
- Your voyage tier, Essential or Premium
- What you actually drink, house or top shelf, and how many a day
- Specialty coffees, because those come out of the same pot

It gives you your estimated onboard spend, then the optimal bar tab to buy. It counts the bar tab credit and the coffee perk that come with your status, so the number it hands you is real, not a guess.

I ran it for my own sailing. It told me to buy the $500 bar tab, which lands almost exactly on the $575 I would actually spend once the bonus credit is added. That is the whole point: buy the right size instead of a random $100 and hope.

It takes about a minute. Go use it before your next sailing.

IT'S LIVE! Valiant Lady's first ever Scandinavia and Baltics season is open for booking as of this morning. ⬇️

✔️ 6 new itineraries
✔️ 15 ports making their Virgin Voyages debut
✔️ 2 overnights, Stockholm and Lisbon
✔️ 1 Arctic Circle sailing, 11 nights, adults-only
✔️ Valiant Lady, sailing from Amsterdam
✔️ July 9 to September 4, 2028

The late nights are the thing nobody is talking about yet. Copenhagen until 10pm on one sailing and 11pm on another. Hamburg until 11:59pm. Most ships in Northern Europe pull out between 5pm and 7pm, so you see the harbor and a gift shop. Here you get dinner, a bar, and the walk back.

Honest note, because I am not going to oversell this one. Two of the six are one-way, Barcelona to Amsterdam or the reverse. That means two different airports to book and it is not always the cheaper flight. Worth it if you want land time on either end, but do not let it surprise you at checkout.

Booking have opened and this one is GOING FAST. The best cabins and dates go first.
